Hmm one important thing, does our Facetime still rely on WiFi only? This is important as I don't want to waste money getting extra data which I am not going to use. Having the previous hotlink prepaid plan with 500MB I exceeded the data only once during my 1 year period.

So which means if we were change to iValue as principle.

Our supp will automatically remove from their Value Plus Family? Cause to signup for Value PLus Family the requirement is that principle need to be at least VP80

@xenohawk,
Yes.. FaceTime at this point in time is only usable via WiFi.

@nles,
Hmm... well, if ur principal is signing up on the iValue plans, U should be entitled to sign up the Family Plans; I'm not too sure about tariffs though - can U possibly call Maxis and check and revert back so I know biggrin.gif Thanks! tongue.gif

Just call Maxis, the Family Plus Plan will be revert to normal Family Plan 30, mean the call rate cannot same as principal line, will be RM0.15/min to Maxis, RM0.20/min to other operator.

Haiz, I dislike this, damn ~

@JasonKid,
There.. told U so... unless ur family line's using a different Value Plus plan. The tariff basically follows whatever plan you're using tongue.gif

There's 2 type of family plan which is Family Plus 30 and Value Plus Family. VP Family is the one with cheaper tariff but require principle line to be at least VP80. Well my sub doesn't call much so it's okie. Probably will ask them when collecting the ip4

Yups !
Got conned by Maxis when i first got the iphone 3G . Lots of things not mentioned when you sign up

1) SMS not included in the iValue

2) The " system cycle " .
I got the plan at the end of the month , so thought the 1Gb data will be till 30 of thenext month ,
but actually , since my bill is out on the 14th every month , the pro-rata 1Gb to 14th = 450Mb .As usuall ,when get a new phone , start down loading and surfing like crazy , so over limit and charged Rm250 TWICE coz i only found out about this on the 3rd month (was on auto-debit)

3) Family plan canceled
Calls to sub-line no longer free

4) 3Gs out 3 weeks after i bought the 3G , can't trade in !
All in all , paid over Rm700 . Went to Maxis CS , she says she understands , coz she is experiencing the same problem , same with hundreds of others !
Seems they've re-worked their billing , but it's Rm700 down the drain  mad.gif

So be careful guys when you sign up for your iP4

i personally think its not exactly right to said the telco conned you..esp item 2, it spell out clearly and its the No.1 thing being stressed by maxis sales when helping you to signup new plan...and it make more sense to pro-rata the bill..
sometimes, we need to take on the responsibility too as consumer to research when buying things and spend at least sometime reading terms and conditions, etc...a good example: just imagine everyone complain and accuse the cinema for conning them to watch Twilight doh.gif

@deepan84,
Lol... Y can't U call instead?! Anyhow, I too want to know the information though I did hear that it'll be automatically updated. Perhaps someone can post this up on Maxis' FB site [I don't have FB so I can't do it] and wait for an official response.

Nevertheless, People still like the Iphone 4 from digi and maxis. I think only these 2 telco provided the US set though. we all knew that the Iphone 4 we saw in Low Yat Plaza is about RM3400-RM4000 for 16gb. I was so shocked and I saw the sticker being like those warranty set with Chinese character maybe china set???

Strongly agree if you really like the iphone 4 can stick with the plan, at least got warranty by apple and in case the 2 weeks start to have minor problem can exchange one to one. I am not sure if Iphone do the same like HTC set did exchange 3 times handset for me last month when my HTC couldn't be fixed. (HTC Desire from Maxis Plan)

@cutiepooh,
I've no idea what u mean by 'provided the US' sets. U can't compare the prices between the telco + what U see at LYP because prices at LYP have been priced v much higher than what people should be paying [it's based on demand vs supply]

All defect iPhones are changed on a 1:1 basis. They don't repair the phones but give you a replacement biggrin.gif

The California set I meant. No no, 1stly I walked in to the garden for the HTC Desire which I signed up 1 weeks ++ can't perform normally. or hanging something , I thought my sim card created the problem. so they got my phone for HTC repaired, 3 days they called me said they can't find out the problem so gave me 2nd set. and same problem to 3rd set now is ok smile.gif

@cutiepooh,
The sets from Maxis and DiGi are official Apple sets; and it's probably coming in from the China factory! tongue.gif Don't know what u mean by California/US sets.. makes no difference really.

For the iPhone replacements, it's the same too. U lodge a complain, put the handset down with them for about a week and then they'll tell U if there's something wrong with the phone; if so then they will give u a new one.

As per reference with previous postings in this thread, there's someone did mention the outright purchase could be done in such manner. However, the legitimacy of such allegation has yet to be confirmed. Period.
