The best way, if I'm a prospective purchaser, is to keep Maxis webpage bookmarked and refreshed to see the info the very minute it is posted. The next best thing to look out for Maxis own Twitter account, they'll be announcing it too and it may be even a better avenue for info compared to their webpage since it is easier to post short tweets than bringing up fresh webpages.

i hope maxis does this approach too to avoid a much more longer que.
and regarding the pricing i wont be putting too much hope whether it would be more expensive or not.
should be more concern on which telco would give the better rate, thats what im patiently waiting for smile.gif

I knew about the iPhone launch in US & UK although i wasn't there during the launch. I just happened to read this from the Taiwanese Telco Far Eastone that only those that get invited through SMS are allow to be queue-up during the launching by showing their SMS to the authority. Since S'pore also work the same way, that's why i think Maxis might work pretty much the same way too...

Like I said, it depends on how Maxis perceive the midnight launch as. It is their FIRST launch of its kind, before these are all just preorders. When you think about midnight launches, you would think "first come first serve" isn't it? Otherwise why even bother launching during midnight, why dont they just open the line up at say, 8am? So, with that line of thought, wouldn't it logical to assume that it's based on "siapa cepat dia dapat"?

I agree on your point that Maxis should follow those telco launch procedure, it is much more streamlined and less messy. But the question is, does MAxis think the same?

Well, time will tell. If your insider news is accurate, we are only 1 week away from the launch, and if Maxis really do follow what S'pore and Taiwan did, then we should be able to pre-order the phone on 21st or 22nd.

Most probably Maxis wont launch pre-order.
As mentioned by the member string above......

Anyway I just hope Maxis clearly state no pre-order.
I willing to queue for days if Maxis clearly state..
At least, tell me something, let customers do decision....

Yet, now everything is not clear.
From the day I register of interest on Maxis website 20July until now, the website auto refresh every 30 sec,
except two times they change the main page with iPhone 4 picture, finally, iPhone replace by Blackberry booking.
Yet, nothing about iPhone 4 news leaked. Hu~~

patients fells, good things happen for those who wait biggrin.gif

no updates from maxis thats why i kept checking thru here incase got extra insider source or something.
it is still up to you to believe or not.
no point of speculating over and over whether the info here true or not.
just wait for the real confirmation then by all means.

as you said, only time will tell smile.gif

ow and i really believe and hope that maxis will opt for the approach the singaporeans did.
it should anyway consider that it is a midnight launch.
still, anything can happen till we get a final official answer.

now thats running on my mind is how much stock malaysia would have from our telcos and would it be enough?
considering the stock shortages around the world now.

But sometimes, there are some people very lucky even without wait. lolz.
anyway, prepare for next week ad....

Duno how many people from M'sia will buy iPhone.
But I has strong feeling, Malaysia iPhone 4 not as high as other countries. Perhaps just 5k already enough for people on that nite.
Any survey show Malaysia iPhone users?

Impossible, they not allow you using credit card.

Not true. You can try changing the back of the link.
E.g : http://www.maxis.com.my/iphone4/random
http://www.maxis.com.my/iphone4/abc123

And the result is the same.

Yup, I don't believe that it is an official account from Streamyx. And also we should be looking at http://twitter.com/maxiscomms . BTW, what does streamyx have to do with the iPhone 4? hmm.gif

Ok, just for some updates on iPhone 4 (non contract) pricing at Taiwan :

iPhone 4 16gb (NTD 24,900 ~ RM2435)

iPhone 4 32gb (NTD 28,900 ~ RM2825)

Both are official RRP.

So I guess when Maxis launches iPhone 4 on next week, the non contract price should be more or less the same.
