If i m not mistaken, i asked dis question before. And i remembered i got the answer from somebody from this forum stating that prepaid users will get to buy as this is always the maxis trend as experience from previous 3GS.  Prepaid users got their chance to buy da phone when it was firstly launched. But still, for ip4.. the best is to get the news from MAXIS.
*
Not sure I understand what you mean...
do you mean that (a) only existing prepaid users can get... or (b) can register a new prepaid account there an then and still get the iphone4?

As long as u are the maxis prepaid user, den u are eligible to buy the ip4. Well, i'm not sure if u're going to register there straight away and u will be eligible to buy or not. However, if maxis allows prepaid user to buy the ip4, why not u simply get a hotlink sim card 1st rather than straight away register there? Just to be safe.. lol

Yup... you are right to suggest get a hotlink sim card first to be safe.
But it's best to wait for Maxis to announce it first instead of buying the hotlink unnecessarily.
Hotlink so easy to get, there's a hp shop near my house 1min drive away..

True. However till today, we still don't get any announcement from Maxis that they are going to launch iphone on 24 sept. Till then, all we can do is to wait for the announcement of launching date and as well as the PLAN.

Im not on contract. Previously I share the credits with all my subline, I'm the one that called the most. Right now I'm on 80+30+30+30+30, usually my bill goes to 250 something.

If I change to iValue, I won't be able to share my subline's credit right? How bout the free calls between subline. Feel like just getting the phone alone, and then take the 3gb internet package.
*
i've asked this question at a maxis centre before. you still get the free call/sms with ur subline, but ur credit wont be shared anymore. lets say u're using ivalue1 rm155, but ur usage up to rm200.. u need to pay rm200 even through ur subline no usage at all

QUOTE(chris_6750 @ Sep 16 2010, 02:04 PM)
Will Maxis selling iPhone 4 without contract just like Singapore?
*
QUOTE(haireez @ Sep 16 2010, 03:34 PM)
I dont think so..
Otherwise ppl will change to other network
*
haireez, dun simply answer if u dont know +_+ maxis has always sold the iphone 3g n 3gs without contract thru the hotlink plan, 2490 n 2990 for 16gb n 32gb respectively, and it's reasonable to assume it'll be the same for ip4. difference from singapore is u still have to buy from maxis, in SG can buy thru the online store. and yes, buy iphone outright from maxis, u still can use with other telco.

the way maxis urge u to stay with their network is they give u free 500mb/month data. if u switch to other network, then u'll lose this. no problem with the phone itself. maxis iphones are unlocked

For the outright buy the 500mb free data sim card must be a new number or can use existing hotlink number?

Ok I think that just answered my question. Thanks.

So lets say, I'm currently using a Digi Line and i wish to stay with it.

Can I buy a Maxis prepaid card to get an Iphone? And then use my Digi simcard and register for the Digi Iphone 3gs plan?

But if Maxis iPhone stock not enough, they wont launch iPhone for prepare user so fast, normally, anyway, need wait and see later.
Anyway, why you dont wait for Digi iPhone?
I think Digi also will launch on same week.

for those who are confused about this booking/buying/midnight launch thing:

do check out this link on the days leading to the launch in singapore:

Countdown to Singapore iPhone 4 Launch

if malaysia is similar, this can gives a good idea what will happen in coming days.

hope this helps.

The clock is ticking down towards 30 July when the iPhone 4 is launched in Singapore. Telcos have released information indicating a midnight launch (again) on 30 July, where customers who pre-ordered (to be announced soon) can collect. Like previous launch of the iPhone, walk-in customers will not be entertain during the midnight launch.

do hope Maxis also do pre-order.
go queue for few hours, and get nothing, is not a good experience.
anyway, I think Maxis should post something next Monday le.

Just visited one of the Taiwan telco site, they will be having 12am midnight launch on 17/9, and 9pm 16/9 customers can start queuing up, pretty similar to the rumors that we heard about maxis so far. And only those pre-ordered and invited will able to get the iphone during the 3 days iPhone 4 launching event from 17/9 - 19/9, which also matched the rumored 24/9 - 26/9 for Maxis. Check this link out if you can read chinese.
