My BenQ been going strong for more than a year now, never send to SC nod.gif...

Added on February 2, 2010, 10:41 amand also, we take good care of the laptop also...even if the laptop doesn't heat much but if the environment is not good, also can heat-up the temperature nod.gif

R45, comes with 8400M GS...no wonder sweat.gif...well, got to say that R45 is one of BenQ laptop with quite poor cooling system, i tested one before and its really is hot sad.gif...but rest assure as BenQ S42 is far more cooler than R45, and it won't produce heat much...what do you expect from a 14" with quite a heat-burner GC laugh.gif...

That would depends back to the notebook design and its system cooling.
But generally yes, since it need to cramp those heat-generator in such small places.
Its not like desktop where you have much more space for better airflow.

Well, this is simple....you are now playing game (exp : Crysis), before game starts the temp for both CPU/GPU is 42C/58C....and on with the game, temp while running the game for sure will go up like CPU/GPU is 64C/75C...

Yes, the more demanding the game, the more stress it put onto the CPU/GPU which will cause it to heat-up pretty easily smile.gif

This is the same guy who earlier posted:

If you're going to game, get a desktop. Or better, get a cheap desktop. Notebooks can heat up all too easily, and is good for people who use for outdoor work and only game occasionally, or don't play online games where it can stretch for hours.

by no way i mean offense, but i guess you need to read thoroughly for the particular forum..
on the next page of your particular quote, they have found out about modded driver, namely DOX and Nautis for benq s42
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread...t=281228&page=4
one thing is, S42 Always have problem of heat when using the original driver, under vista
note that they also mentioned their GPU switching time is ard 5-15 sec, running vista,
while mine only need 3-5 sec switching either card in Win 7.
like Monza said, pls head to BenQ thread for further details,
and the details is at the very 1st page of the thread.
