tell TM u wan to terminate now... they can do it.

if the account under your name and u are the student going to apply for this package. U dont have to terminate your existing acc.

it's consider upgrade.

today went to tmpoint upgrade from RM90 combo to RM100 4mb student pack with my frd.


B4 tat we went to TMN DESA TMpoint. they say we need to terminate the existing streamyx acc and register the new Unipack package. To terminate the existing acc we need to wait for 30days.

Today I went to TMpoint Pandan Indah, They just upgrade the existing acc to new 4mb package in 5min. They told me, is ok if the existing streamyx acc is not belongs to u. if u terminate the existing acc there is a 30days waiting period to terminate your existing streamyx acc. and after terminate u might/might not got port anymore.... this guy said. nvr mind, I will do the upgrade from the existing acc without terminate anything... somemore even faster.

Yes, If the account is under your name and not tie-in- contract.

b4 u upgrade please make sure u ask them to check got ports or not...

RM100 = included phone line rental.

how they know r u year 3 or 4 ?
if they ask, then u say year2.

if ur account is successful.... they will giv u confirmation slip on the spot...
i think u need to resubmit everything again.

Internet will get cheaper and cheaper every year... but every year they offer higher speed. once your 2years contract end.. by the time new package for is much more way better.

Becareful, My frd terminate his account and reapply for 4mb..

waited for 30days and finally installer called him and check...

then they say his hse is not support 4mb.. LOL...
So what now ? Streamyx terminated. apply new Unipack just for the netbook and slightly cheaper price and + 2 years contract and getting the same speed.

I really dont know how the installer check ? and what guideline to determine the line is not support 4mb without testing it..
it's happened to my 2 frds. the installer just called them and telling them no 4mb.

SNR margin ?
Port available ?
> 3 KM to exchange ?

because most happen to my frd. the installer did not turn up and just call them by telling them 4mb no support in their area..

r they really tested with ADSL2+ port for the 4mb user home first of all.

As what I know. The installer will come to your hse first to check SNR Margin from the modem.
then If the margin ok.. then they will carry on. if the margin low and the house owner is ADSL1 port how ?

In your Modem Status :
U need to have
=> 15db SNR margin
< 45db attenuation
<= 3KM from exchange

However, this is just a min requirement. but u still can activate 4mb if u do not meet the criteria above.

Below is my modem status and I got 4mb capped without DC or problem.
