I am looking for a player that can stream movies or dramas with subtitles from my computer through wired or wireless connection to my living hall TV.

Minimum requirement:

- Stream video and audio via wired or wireless 802.11n connection
- Able to play many types of video format such as WMV, MKV, RMVB, AVI
- Able to read SRT subtitles format

A good to have features:

-internal harddisk storage
-USB port
- card reader port
- 1080p

Can anyone recommend something? What about those sold in garage sales?

Thanks in advance

Most 'Chinese' brands can do what you've mention, so basically it boils down to your budget and your expectation of the picture and audio quality.

thanks again for the replies.

My budget is around RM500. I think go for the Yangxi's HDPro.

I plan to connect the player to a normal 34 inch tv. I think the HDpro will do the job fine.

Am i correct?

he told me got stock.

There's not many to use between RM400-RM600 right?

At these price range, usually are chinese brand with 1073 chipset. The performance will be the same if i paid one at RM400 and another at RM600.

majority of media players are manufactured in china
they then copy the design and release their own brand

yup video performance same, just the interface Skin (which is the firmware) and the I/O ports are different, some have component, some have composite/svideo etc... some have I/O switch some none.. some can direct drive Harddisc via SATA without USB case.
the other extras are the software part.. like connecting internet/ LAN or able to read BDISO/BDMV or understand BD playlist MPLS file..
