5740 dun have bio protection

hye.. yess.. 4740g comes with fingerprint..
my friend bought it, and i also surprised that it comes with thumbprint eventhough it is not stated on the brochure..
u should check it out.. the thumbprint is located near the touchpad..

i bought 5740g oredi, how comes its like 500ringgit more expensive than 4740g and it don even comes with bio protection.... how come this lappy is lousier than 4740g.

bro, wut do u mean lousier? I own a 4740g n i've fiddle around with 5740g..it looks identical except that 5740g is slightly bigger n doest come wit a fingerprint reader, owh n 5740g has better spec

u mean better specs for 5740g? its just its graphic card and procesor a little better than the rm 2499 4740g.. its not even worth rm 500 more. Plus 5740g has no bio protection and 4740g has it.. mayb i bought the wrong lappy oredi, gosh made the wrong decision

lol, i just realized, the 5740G offered here in Aus comes in Core i5-420M/Core i3-330M + HD5650 1GB DDR3 + 640GB/500GB HDD...

AU$1148 (RM3450) and AU$998 (rm3000) respectively...

In terms of general usage n the price, i would think 4740g is better...but 5740g has better spec minus fingerprint reader n bio protection

so it means i bought the wrong lappy oredi? cause 5740g doesnt seem any much better than 4740g.... and i spent about rm500 for something that is more expensive but lousier???

I wouldn't call it lousier or u bought the wrong one, it's kinda like give n take situation, depending on your usage. U got a better CPU,GPU,more ram and a bigger screen. I wont mind not having a figerprint reader.

but the cpu, gpu, and screen its like a little better than 4740g, and doesnt even cost a 500 ringgit more... plus, it doesnt even come with a fingerprint hardware

Seriously,why do u like fingerprint reader so much? u think it'll add up to your 3dmark score?just enjoice your laptop bro, u r paying rm500 more for better spec, fingerprint reader is not everything in the world, u can still live without it. If u dont like your 5740g, u can try exchanging it with 4740g user. I'm sure someone in this forum would wanna have your laptop.

but the cpu and gpu are like only better to a very little extent as compare to 4740g, and its only 1.5 inch bigger.. would these cost more than rm500? i think not.

Too bad the Malaysian version of 5740G doesnt come with ATi HD5650.. lol..

u cant value a laptop in this way. btw how do u know those upgrades dont cost RM500??? it's just ur own speculation

that 1.5" probably already cost rm200 at the minimum, to Acer, they talk abt surface area, not diagonal length...

RAM probably rm100 (since they do tray order, so it's cheaper)

GPU + CPU for sure more than rm200...

for ur information, gpu performance in 5740G is almost double the 1 in 4740G

that's worth more than a fingerprint reader
