QUOTE(chyaw @ Jan 14 2010, 03:20 PM) Good for you! Can get some KFC meal from Sealink jor. BTW, this coming Sunday could be flooding in Sarawak if rains continue to fall like today. Just take note. So long didn't have KFC meal. Rain is good as my quarters don't have aircon.... I think the blue is too deep. Maybe a lighter blue? This post has been edited by kmarc: Jan 14 2010, 03:26 PM

QUOTE(VyvernS @ Jan 14 2010, 04:15 PM) Ya, i am looking at it also. I think coffee makers will be up in orders soon (SBUX on NYSE is doing well, up USD10 from June). I bought Uchi a year back, about 76 sen only, then unloaded it when i felt it was not going to go any further. Damn! You caught the bottom! My ABP was around 86 cents. Unloaded at RM 1.36 and RM 1.43 as I thought the 3 sen dividend was not attractive enough for investors. Everday looking at it and hoping it doesn't suddenly fly off!

QUOTE(viper88 @ Jan 14 2010, 08:32 PM) Ya, Osk giving out staff esos next week Mon, some of their staff will cash out, selling down price. If buyer still there, price wont be affected much. Since its quite near to bonus ex-date.. better be careful especially those short term punters. After ex, price will becomes attractive again. Long term outlook still positive. I see. I guess I won't average down yet if the price goes down. If it does drop, kindly tell me when you want to buy again. Note: Tell me before you buy.

QUOTE(chyaw @ Jan 18 2010, 09:30 PM) My buy/sell can be easily seen in this forum. Nothing to hide. I think your investment style are very different from mine. I don't think you'll take any tips from me (HaiO was the latest one) BTW, just check out DXN. Quite a good counter, but I still prefer Zhulian more than DXN. Personal choice. Of course, if short term punting, I think DXN can be a good play as financial results should be out this week or next. I'm expecting a good result from it based on its EPS growth trend and others MLM's EPS growth. Should get a reasonable div too. No lar, it's not that I don't take tips from you. I'm too chicken to play the stock market now.

QUOTE(motolola @ Jan 18 2010, 10:40 PM) NOthing wrong with being cautious at the moment, it's always better to be cautious and pick the correct stock rather than follow the crowd. When you see something you like, only pick it up lor YNHProp is a good prop company, i think the recent hike in market price is because of Vale International's investment in Manjung, Perak where YNHProp has about 80% of the landbank, only logical that demand for housing will rise (data from OSK research). Fundamentally it's a very good prop company, steady and still has lots of room to grow Hehe, I usually follow somebody's backside tip as I don't have any clue about reading financial reports. YNHProp? Thanx for the info but as I said, will not be buying anything at the moment

OSK is so weird. There's no buy or sell Q at RM1.80 as every time there is a sell Q, it will be snapped up immediately. Same with a buy Q. Traders just playing around?

QUOTE(ashiezai @ Jan 20 2010, 03:49 PM) Been looking for information about par value on wikipedia but still do not understand. Can any sifu explain to me? what is actually par value for a specific stock? Stock A got 0.50 par value and stock B got 0.10 par value. I know it doesn't reflect the actual trading value of the stock, but sometimes I do see people saying like 'although Stock B is a 10 cent share' Does the par value reflect any thing like liquidity? I just know that if the share were to do a 1-1 split, then the par value will be half of its original. Please enlighten me. Thanks. Par value is a fixed value determined when the stock was issued (and listed on stock certificates), and does not fluctuate even when the price of the stock changes in the stock market. It is usually not important unless you are talking about dividends. E.g. x company giving a dividend of 25% (the 25% is out of the par value and NOT the price of the stock). There are some details in my stock market guide. Can take a look

QUOTE(ashiezai @ Jan 20 2010, 04:03 PM) Thank you! So other that dividend calculation, it doesnt matter? As far as I know, it is of no significance to us investors except for the dividend calculation. Hmmm... the funny "activity" is still going on at OSK. Hope to see some fireworks at the end! QUOTE(viper88 @ Jan 20 2010, 05:10 PM) If perform worst, maybe u can sell off cheap cheap and let others to buy. For me OSK gives good div, free sub-stocks, bonus issue, strong defensive and good growth stock. Those who wants immediate rocket jump stock to get big profit maybe not suitable la, coz OSK is slow and steady type. I also got profit! 1 meal of KFC!!!! Interested to see what happens after ex.......
