Hi All,
I plan to setup a SIMPLE home entertainment system. i plan to get a 47 or 42 inch LCD TV with a simple laptop/computer to play movies and videos.

Do i need a good graphics card to support this system? Any laptop is good enough to support a 42-47 inch LCD TV?
I will use it to watch youtube and some DVD's if necessary. Currently thinking of Philips 47PFL5403 LCD TV.

Please recommend a brand/specification if you have any idea about this! thanks smile.gif

For 5.1 surround system, jump to logitech z-5500 @ creative gigaworks..if your budget allow..but if not,you can always go for Aego M for 2.1 system..
if pc speaker dont get your attention, you can always count on HTIB from sony/philips/samsung @ LG..

what you're asking is just the computer and the screen, right?

As mentioned, it really depends on your budget... and where you wanna put it.

There's the option of getting a 42" or 47" and a small form PC like the Dell Zino HD that comes with HDMI so it can basically sit next to each other.
There's also the option of getting a notebook for daily use, a 42" or 47" and an AC Ryan PlayOn with 1TB HDD sitting next to your TV so you can just transfer whatever movies/videos from your laptop to it.

You didn't mention about sound system though...
