Since I can't find any australia thread in lowyat, and this one is the most active, I wanna tumpang thread ask something

I want to ask something about the banks in Australia. I heard my friend said that, until today, Australia bank doesn't have deposit machine. All transaction in or out, have to be done over the counters, and even counters will took you 2-3 days to clear and show the amount in your bank account. Is that true? @@

Also they don't use smartchip on credit/debit cards. Because using credit/debit cards require additional pin number to authorize the transaction?

i don't see any deposit machines for commonwealth bank around Melbourne CBD. so far i only see 1 deposit machine from NAB at corner of chinatown and russell street.

i go commonwealth bank at RMIT weekly to deposit money and luckily the counter not busy or need to queue/take ticket number for my turn. the downside is i only can deposit money in working hours

so could we actually get a pin for our malaysian credit card?
im so used to using the pin with my debit card here in sydney.

my dad's gonna mail the card over to me as it wasnt issued on time before i left. so getting things done in malaysia is not an option =/ unless my dad can do it for me.
