QUOTE(CarotMilk @ Mar 28 2010, 02:08 PM) I would definitely love to come to Australia, the only problem I'm facing is money. Are there any agencies that offers study loan for student studying overseas? these are the sources i have, hehe There's still a few scholarship for current international students right? Who support your fees in Australia? Well, it's good to keep track of how much you spent, that way you won't spend 100k...LOL What course are studying in UTAS? Europe? Reasons? Europe's currency is like 1 point higher than Australia, isn't that going to make the cost higher? Which part of Australia are you in? You sound like a saving Guru, haha... How much you spend pw? http://www.malaysia.idp.com/macc_scholarship.aspx http://www.sunrisebhd.com/sunrisecorp/News...16/Default.aspx http://www.biasiswascholarship.com/ Added on March 28, 2010, 5:28 pm QUOTE(haya @ Mar 27 2010, 08:41 AM) Notice the difference between the 2 posters. I need some comments about griffith university as I received the offer letter from this university and I'm still considering it. The website doesn't display the actual fee and details of several off-campus accommodation (eg. student hostel) and I really need this information for future use. It's always better to ask a student rather than an education agent. Moreover, I'd be happy to meet some new friends here who are currently studying in griffith, especially in the campus located in Mt. Gravatt. One has done some research before coming into this thread, the other just blindly asking questions expecting to be spoonfed. What is the point of having rules when a) they are not followed b) They cannot be enforced. This is why Malaysia will never move on. Re CarotMilk, A$12,000 - A$14,500 seems to be a reasonable cost of living in Hobart, considering that JPA gives their scholars there A$11,500/year in living allowance. I can't say for the university and the course, but maybe onelove89 could give some insight into the university. Please be understanding, thanks This post has been edited by 0Celeste0: Mar 28 2010, 05:28 PM |

Is there a rule in vic state that renting out a bedroom with no window is illegal? I heard it from my friend and tried to get more information via google but it wasn't listed in the consumer's affair or tenant union website.

QUOTE(haya @ Aug 2 2010, 06:48 PM) Member 0Celeste0, decided on Victoria eh? Thanks for your information. I went to the tenant union few days ago and found out that it's legal for the landlord to rent it out. I will only stay there for 5 months, should be fine. I will get rid of it at the mid of summer -__-Such regulations sound more like a council by-law than any state legislation. It is true that I could not find any mention of windows-room requirements for Victoria, but the law aside, do you really want to be in a room with no windows? If you are concerned, I suggest calling the local council in your jurisdiction. They should be able to point you in the right direction. QUOTE(razornick22 @ Aug 4 2010, 08:34 PM) I'm looking for Accomodation Near RMIT university, anyone stay nearby there before? Which campus? There is a RMIT university near my area, Bundoora. the price for a room ranged from 90 to 160, depending on your needs. however, DO NOT sign contract with 2 landlords, Peter and Martin, both of them came from HK -____-What's the price for 1 room? Probably going next year around January mayb with 2-3 friends. |

QUOTE(razornick22 @ Aug 4 2010, 09:29 PM) oh, I'm not staying in the city. I came in July, lol.QUOTE(~Curious~ @ Aug 5 2010, 01:21 AM) what's wrong with peter and martin?BTW what are their full names??izzit just them or hongkies in general? A lot of people complained that Peter didn't return the bond or charged them unreasonably. Some girls said he interrupted their privacy. He doesn't follow the rules and regulations in Vic and no bond lodgement has been done. Martin charged 600 for furniture deposit and didn't keep the room as promised even though deposit had been placed. However, he did return the deposit. It's better to deal with malaysian or local people. |

QUOTE(haya @ Aug 5 2010, 08:54 AM) Let me just say this again and again: anyone who does not sign a lease (fixed or otherwise) and pay a bond when selecting any accommodation, is just asking for trouble. Regardless of what ethnicity the landlord is. It wasn't a bond deposit. You're lucky he returned the bond deposit. I've had to deal with cases where the landlord has thrown out some hapless chap and deny's all knowledge of any monies secured to him by the poor tenant. |

QUOTE(KVReninem @ Aug 6 2010, 03:04 PM) Ah...this issue again.. Sigh, please do not assume that you know everything first of all Member 0Celeste0 was given the advice about the difference of QLD & VIC. Told her about the condition but well, its all up to her choice where she look for a plc to rent. But instead doing the way of actually check up a plc via inspection etc, she just hoping everything will be as easy as QLD... Now regretted signing up with bad-ass Landlord ? There`s many msian in Melb, but no idea why never bother to ask but stick up with people that do help at front but at back-stab you with dodgy deals.. I DID inspect the house before signing the contract. I declined to meet you, that's my right and freedom. Please do not make any silly comment here to spoil my image. The only thing I regret is answering some members' questions but ended up with sarcastic comments from OTHER members, zzz... PS/member Casper, now you should know why I don't really want to post up my comment here -____- People do not ask for further information before shooting me.
