Hey is it possible to go for your medical checkup before you receive your COE? Because my COE have not arrived yet!! and time is running out. Im thinking of doing the medical checkup first to save some time. My agent told me that it is not possible but anyone here tried doing that before?
*
No, it's not possible. Before you can do the medical checkup you must first lodge your student visa application, download referel letter with your application's reference number from the website for the clinic.Since you still have not received you CoE you are unable to lodge your student visa application and thus can't perform your medical check up for your student visa yet.

they usually try to issue the CoE within 5 working days after you pay the deposit and the neccessary acceptance forms but with the huge load of work they have right now they might be a bit slower.

*
If you went to IDP at SS15 it's quite nearby.
AUG (AusEd) is the one at the end of the row near to AC.

Well agents usually don't get money from you, they get money from the University. Once your confirmed going to a University than the University will give a commission to the agent.

I just receive my COE this afternoon. After 7 working days!!
Anyone here knows the procedure for applying VISA through online? Because I am currently not around Malaysia, so this is the best option for me. Am i supposed to scan my COE, Passport, Medical checkup results to a particular website?? I am aware that I am supposed to make my payment online.
*
You apply through here
https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/visas/jsp/index.jsp
No need to scan anything, they only need your CoE and passport number, there's no need to scan. Have a credit card ready.
Medical Checkup unfortunately you have to be here to do, you will need to go to one of their panel clinics listed when you make your application. You'll be able to download your refferal letter once you sumbit the online application and once you've done the check up with the clinic, the clinic will send your medical check up results directly to their office. You can not do a check up at a non-panel clinic.

buying over there would also help so that you don't buy the type that is not suitable to the weather in that area as it differs. It could be cheaper as well buying over there than buying from some of the shops here.

I know right!  shocking.gif . My agent was notified with the COE, and she offered me to arrange for my visa. I'll be arriving Perth few days earlier and in between free days during orientation, I can have a look in those houses I have shortlisted. So yeah, let's just see how it goes.
*
It takes only about 15 minutes or so to fill in your online visa application, you don't need your agent to do it for you ^^" and you can do that from home. Have your CoE and Passport details ready to fill those up and a credit card. Then it's just to go for the Medical examination.
Life Care Diagnostics in PJ is a good place if you are from KL/Selangor they can submit your medical examination results online so faster processing.

Thanks, may I know where can I look for the list of panel clinics? and May I know how long (estimated) does it take to produce a VISA from the day you do your medical checkup to the day when it is issued.
*
You can go to the Australian Immigration website for the list of panel clinics.
They will also show you a list of panel clinics after you submit your online application. You have to choose where to do the medical exam and x-ray so they can generate the referral letter for the clinic.

be sure to register with Education Malaysia Australia (Formerly known as Malaysian Student Department Australia)
See if stuff like the Queensland flood or like something that happened in Egypt it'll be very incovenient if the government doesn't know your existence ^^"
Register especially the one with MOHE, it's compulsory but a lot of people do not seem to think doing so is important. It'll only take a few minutes and everything is online so there's really no excuse ^^ It's a requirement of your passport if you took the time to read the conditions at the back.

1. will you want to pay extra premium + GST price+ limited choice for kathmandu stuffs when actually its made from china?
2. the reason why kathmandu, snowgum, n some others are still here because of market monopoly + lack of choices.
3. No doubt, some australia made have lasting quality, but this day.. open your eye. Australia clothing mostly are made in china.
4. if you want to pay the price, go ahead, your money anyway.  smile.gif
1. if you are still in the interior of kalimantan or mt isa, i`m sorry bro. Just live your life on. I got nothing to argue with you about.
2. Just enjoy your giordano & big w, just serve how you want others look at you.
3. You are in Brisbane, wear what you got in Lauceston or Hobart. Do tell me if you are tough enough not to get cold with climate change this days.
4. If you dont know much about buying cloths, get yourself a fashion advisor who get your proper bargain. icon_rolleyes.gif
5. Again, if you never had one proper jacket from uniqlo, dont try to be smart about it & try to do comparison about like what Brisbane laugh.gif

Hi. I have a question. Assuming one is aiming for Australian medical college.

1. Assuming one is aiming for Monash uni, are there advantages in doing Year 12 in Melbourne?
2. Assuming one is aiming for Sydney uni, are there advantages in doing Year 12 in Sydney?
etc etc
*
As far as I've heard, Universities don't care if you take SACE,WACE,VCE,HSC etc. as long you get the required ATAR cut-off. Than there's also other things to look at like ISAT and the interview. I remembered a friend who took Ausmat (WACE) asking a uni represantative during a fair so that probably holds true for international students, for local students I haven't the slightest idea ^^" though I think it's pretty much should be the same just that there might be a difference in cut-off points between the two due to the number of seats available and the competition ^^"

Well most Aussie med schools are going graduate-entry anyway leaving a few undergrad entry left for year 12 students so you have to just assume unless you get an ATAR of about 98 or a bit lower but a really high ISAT you won't be getting in ^^"

hey guys!! leaving for adelaide tomoro night.  just wanna check again... I DON'T NEED TO DECLARE ANYTHING RIGHT?!!  i am bringing NO FOOD at all.
*
They will give you a card like this
http://www.evisastoaustralia.com/section06/customs.pdf
on the plane. You can see the questions there, if you have anything among them just tick yes. If you tick no and are caught you will be fined. If you are not sure on one of the questions just tick yes.

If you brought something but don't want to declare it they have a bin around the area you pick up your luggage right before quarantine for you to throw away anything you don't want to declare.

Added on February 14, 2011, 3:39 pmAnother question. Someone once told me the airports do random checks on your computer to see if you are using genuine Windows OS. is that true? what about external hard disk? do they check if you have been downloading pirated movies, musics, etc.?
*
never heard of that ^^"
Randomly checking your hard drive for stuff like child pornography yes I have a friend who was checked before. They search his laptop, external hdd, pendrive etc. he had some jailbait gravure videos though and he asked is that considered illegal porn but seems it's ok
softwares there was no problem.

*
Aussie border security has the right to search your laptop and any other external memory drives and also ask you for passwords for encryppted drives to look for illegal pornography.

If you notice there's a question asking you if you have them on your incomming passengers card.

*
with the little amount of Aussie med schools left that are not graduate entry, I'll be suprised if they accept AAB. You'll need at least AAA

lol can't use the Casio fx-570ms >_<" graphical calculator lagi can not use.
Had to go buy another calculator.
And my uni unless it's one of the casio fx-82 series you'll have to check an approved list and go get an "approved" sticker. Unless you do so, you bring those basic calculator they use at the shops also they won't allow into exam.

Planning to do my masters of engineering there. Any comment about the U? Is it mandatory for me to undergo TOEFL test in order to get admittance?
*
depends, sometimes if your previous qualification was done in English (you might be asked to provide evidence) and it hasn't been too long since you graduated then probably you won't need IELTS/TOEFL. Go to the University's website, they usually state clearly what are their English language requirement policy.

Normally in UK, most of the degree level would spent about 3 years to complete the entire program with honours statue.
Although that Australia was a great places to study as it provide a good environment but what are a downfall would be the duration to get the honours which normally require to spend 4 years instead of 3.
Do the maths, additional year to study in oversea require quite a lot of money compared to 3 years including living cost, tuition fee and other..
I know, three years of study in Australia will let you to obtain a degree without honours but let's face the world. Nowadays the company normally will hire someone who has a honours instead of non honours.

So, what should I do then, studying in Australia was my biggest wish but the education system really meake me kinda frustrated. sad.gif
*
there's a difference in what Honours mean in the UK and in Aussie.
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/977667
In Australia unless your looking to go onto Postgraduate studies in research one don't usually do Honours and they would have to be invited by the University even if they wanted to. Only the tops of the batch would be invited for the Honours programme and a good number of this people usually would go on seeking a life in academia.
Companies in Malaysia generally knows that Aussie's 3 year programmes doesn't come with Honours and treated the same as their counterpart with Honours. The Degree is just to get you in the door for an interview anyway.
