i don't see any deposit machines for commonwealth bank around Melbourne CBD. so far i only see 1 deposit machine from NAB at corner of chinatown and russell street.

i go commonwealth bank at RMIT weekly to deposit money and luckily the counter not busy or need to queue/take ticket number for my turn. the downside is i only can deposit money in working hours doh.gif
*
Haha really? There's like 3 commonwealth bank with deposit machines in the city alone.
And at least 1 in every suburb.

But I get paid into my bank account anyways so I don't really need to deposit. I used to when I was working for cash on hand jobs.

so could we actually get a pin for our malaysian credit card?
im so used to using the pin with my debit card here in sydney.

my dad's gonna mail the card over to me as it wasnt issued on time before i left. so getting things done in malaysia is not an option =/ unless my dad can do it for me.

tried googling but couldnt find the right answer. thanks in advance!

I'm sure u can. I've seen people using the pin in Malaysia. Well u should probably contact the bank and see what they can do for you.

But do note that the exchange rate are pretty darn high if you are using oversea's cc in Australia because the forex are usually higher... So i would suggest you to get a local debit card...

Cheers!

if your source of funds is msia, there is no significant difference between using msian cc, and converting myr to aud, deposit in account there and then use a cc from oz...... biggrin.gif

Hi all! I have received an offer from University of Queensland in Master of Commerce (1.5years), however, I am also interested in Master of Risk Management (1 year) from UNSW because this course is more related to my degree.

Anyone here can give me some advise in this two course? icon_question.gif

Thanks.

think on their relevancy to your future targets. It doesn't matter if the course is relevant to your previous qualification if you don't want to do it or it doesn't help you achieve your future goals.

Re MickeyKumiko: also consider the other factors, such as cost of living vis-a-vis Brisbane vs Sydney, the frequency of flights, your social support etc when making the decision.

Without further background on your circumstances, it is hard to give a complete feedback.

Hi. Try UWA housing database for off-accommodation, even if you are desperate to look for a temporary accommodation.

Regarding jobs, I've worked with ANU before, and it was great! I was not treated as a migrant, people were friendly, and I feel appreciated for my knowledge and skills.

Wished I had not returned to Malaysia though. sad.gif

You could do any one of Economics, Finance, or Commerce or a permutation of those. That's the first step towards a career in capital markets / securities trading or research. Not sure why you would single out Melbourne (in which case go for the University of Melbourne like someone else suggested), as you could do the same in Sydney or Canberra.

Hi, thanks for both of your comments. Since at UQ is 1 and half year, and at UNSW is 1 year course, and living cost at Sydney is higher than Brisbane, so I assume I will spend the same amount of money regardless of any of this 2 uni that i choose.

My degree is in Applied Mathematics, and i am working for almost a year now. Actually I am planning to go on next Feb, however I still cannot decide whether want to go oversea or study at local, so I am thinking to postpone it until next July, and at that time I will have 2 years working exp.

What i concern now is the quality of the both uni, anyone can give some comment about UNSW and roughly how much is the living cost at Sydney? and is there any different in Feb intake and July intake, for example if I go on July intake, i will have 3 months holiday while for Feb intake I can finish my course earlier?... Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

Does UNSW have a July intake for their Master of Risk Management? I can't find any documentation on this.

As a general rule, there is no difference in the study time between the Feb and July intake. With a 1 year program, go in during Feb and be back in Malaysia by Christmas. Go in during July and have your graduation in the winter of the following year. You don't get any more (or less) holidays between the different intakes while you're as a student.

depends on what uni you go to. generally, it's around 2x(or more) the normal tuition fees of other courses.

that is not the question you need to ask..........the real question is, will they accept me?.......

for medicine, you don't choose the uni.....they choose you........

as for fees, they are all on their respective websites......if you need to be spoon fed that, you are definitely NOT doctor material.....
