that is INCORRECT.........

the 2 years of onshore study is only for eligibility to apply for the 18 months bridging temporary resident visa, which allows you to stay on in oz and work........even if you get that, you will still need to formally apply for a skilled migrant pr visa........

on the other hand, you do NOT need to even have studied in oz, to be potentially have the required points to apply for pr.........many people apply and have successfully obtained a pr visa from outside oz..........

o issit?

indo mee is not too bad over in aussie, however i dont see why one should bring such stuff unless they have little things to bring. it was rather easy to go over the limit when i was going there, and indo mee and such things aint really something youd really save money from.
*
ya..i would rather fill up the bag with useful things like electronic(hair dryer, printer ink, bed sheet, etc)
those indo mee or maggee can fill it up if u still got some spaces

ya..if u not sure about something, just tick to declare

n it takes week to get debit card becoz they post it to u..not u make a bank account n get the card on the spot

prepare ur student card, coe, passport, etc b4 make bank account..n also ask for more bank statements once u created for rent room, mobile postpaid,broadband,etc...they will charge u $15 for 1 piece bank statement for other time u ask for it(for commonwealth bank n i duno the rest)

if u got bank draft n dun have the card yet,u can straight away deposit the money into ur account by go inside the counter..after tht u can withdraw or deposit from the counter if u dun get ur card yet..btw i think u already knew this rite?

i actually dont know what cash out means...everytiime they ask me i would say no...anyone care to explain?
*
if not mistaken,if the item u bought is $30,u can pay by debit/credit card for $20 then another $10 by cash...

QUOTE(december88 @ Feb 6 2010, 10:32 AM)
When i got here i wanted a post-paid mobile plan, so happen they wanted my bank statement but i have t wait for a month for that to happen and instead i have to pay somewhere like $10 for a piece of letter titled letter of introduction from the bank confirming that i have a bank account in Australia.
None the less the mobile shop rejected my application because they want a bank statement.
Went back to the bank and requested refund for misleading advice which i got and ask them to post my 1st statement the very next day.
Next day got my bank statement via post at my hostel and managed to apply for my post-paid plan.
*
i noticed many banks also like tht..my gf ask for bank statement to subscribe 3 postpaid n they gif her computer printed statement to her n 3 don accept because it is not hand written,no chop/sign,bla bla....then need to go ask again
n my bank sometimes charge money for the statement n sometimes not rclxub.gif

*
ask for hand written with chop n signature from the bank...or half computer generated n half hand written..

im planning to use/buy my blackberry over there and i will needed data plan.currently,im using unlimited here in KL..but i dont know whats the average size for blackberry user.Is 200Mb is sufficient ?

thanks..
*
if u r heavy internet user then 500mb will b enough
if average then 250mb already enough
u can check at 3,optus,telstra,vodafone website for more info

QUOTE(jae @ Feb 6 2010, 01:30 PM)
That's not what it meant by cash out. Cash out simply means you can withdraw cash from the cashier instead of having to go to the ATM to do so, for example if you buy something worth $10 from Coles, and requested for $30 cash out, the cashier will give you $30 in cash while a total of $40 will be deducted from your savings account.
*
is it?my bad then tongue.gif
but i rmb i say cash out to the cashier n i pay 80% of the item price n remaining 20% by cash..lol duno
