Shouldn't cost you more than RM200 for both health check and xray.

well it depends though on several factors. For me, since I'm going overseas to study, I want to at least study in Universities that are ranked higher than our research universities lol =P

hum what other options do you have? I'd go for unis in the Go8 or the ATN rather than university of Canberra.
Generally speaking.
Australian Universities does not award Honours for Degree programmes that are three year in length. Automatic Honours like the UK only comes to those programmes that are 4 years or more like BEng,BPharm,LLB etc.

For a three year course like accounting, after completing your Degree you would be awarded a normal Pass Bachelor Degree no matter how good or bad your results were. If you do good enough, you will be able to undergo an extra year doing some research in order to get Honours for your Degree making the length 4 years. Admission into these honours year is usually only on the basis of invitation from the University and you can't apply for it.

Even with just a Pass Degree without Honours from Aussie it won't affect you wanting to find a job in the future. Most people from the HR departments of good companies understand the difference between non-honours degree in Aussie and other places so it would be the same to come in with a first-class honours degree from the UK with a High Distinction average from an Aussie Pass Degree.
*
Going for one of the Go8 is great because they usually present you with a lot more exchange opportunities, not saying University of Canberra doesn't since I have no info on that. With that, I reckon it is very important that every student strife for an exchange opportunity away from their home university for a semester or two to enrich the learning process whatever your course is.

For the second part, you reminded me why in the world does Malaysia unis offer honors for commerce courses - because when I came in LYN for the first time first class / 2nd class honors were thrown around all over the place like it comes for free or something. I applaud Australian universities for recognizing the difference between a Undergraduate Bachelors Degree compared with an Undergraduate Bachelors Degree with Honors. (Anyway I'm graduating soon with an honors on my engineering so I'm cool with it tongue.gif, except it'd suck if I fell over the 1st class line and the cert will only mention 'with honors' instead of first class sad.gif)

Costs are determined by the individual medical practitioners where you have your checkup. As member Tony C said, shouldn't be more than RM200. A list of where you can have your checkup can be found on Immigration's website.

Hey guys , It's been awhile since I last posted .

I'm currently looking for houses to rent down south in Perth .

Areas that I'm looking at are Vic Park , East Vic , Como . Vic Park mostly ... I'm going to attend CIC next year so these areas should be good .

One question is , I've heard a lot of break-in news happening in Bentley , St James . As I've seen ... Vic Park is quite close to them so I just wanna ask how is the situation down there ? I'm pretty sure some of the LYNERS are staying / have stayed in those areas before .

Please enlighten me ? Thanks

Hikari what do you mean by "Automatic Honours like the UK only comes to those programmes that are 4 years or more like BEng,BPharm,LLB etc." ?

Are you saying that, in Australia, degrees such as BEng, BPharm, LLB etc are 4 years in length, and come with Honours?

As far as I know, in Britain, BEng, BPharm (or BSc Pharmacy), and LLB are 3 years in length, and are all awarded with Honours if Honours standards are achieved. MEng is 4 years. MSc Pharmacy would be 4 years.

But I'm not sure what you meant.

Yes I'm saying BEng, BPharm,LLB,MBBS etc. which is 4 years or longer in Aussie comes with Honours as long as you meet the required grades just like most programmes in the UK. No extra Honours year required but 3 year programmes in Aussie like Business,Science,Mass Comm,Computing,IT etc. which are 3 years in length even if you got perfect scores in everything you don't get an Honours Degree, you just get a normal Pass Degree, you will need to undertake an extra Honours year making the duration of the Degree to 4 years and admission to this Honours year is mostly only by invitation by the University.
as far as Professional Boards are concerned an Aussie BEng are equivalent to UK MEng,Aussie BPharm to UK MPharm etc.

Ah I see. But I wouldn't know anything about Professional Boards smile.gif

I might end up applying to Australia, perhaps next year, but I really hope I do not have to.

The Malaysian High Commission website is a start: http://www.malaysia.org.au/info2.html

Remember, this is the Studying in Australia thread, not how-to-bring-stuff-from-Australia-to-Malaysia thread. I will demure on the practicality of bringing a car from Australia to Malaysia (is it really any cheaper?)

Maybe it would be prudent to read before you post, and instead of showing your ignorance and inablilty to read. Unless you enjoy being a trigger happy poster and bask in being illiterate.

There are a few major web forums around the Australian netizen community, through some like Whirlpool have very strong enforcement policies and people who blindly post without searching usually have their threads closed/deleted. Like most things Malaysian, enforcement is not a Malaysian trait.

LOL! Let me ask you this, what is the point of openly defaming a person in public? Wouldn't it speak better of you if you could control your language and send a personal message to me instead of showing off your arrogance in putting me down? Just because you can speak fluent English doesn't give you the right to put someone down.

For your information, I was just excited seeing this post so please don't be a party pooper. You can politely just delete my post if you feel I was being ignorant. Thanks. smile.gif
