chin, I'm browsing through MalFreeMaps right now, but I only see "MFM-Papago Custom 100106 (for Papago Z880 & R58x0, Holux 62-series, Wayway, Altina & X5 for Android)" & "MFM-Papago Standard 100106 (for Papago X3 for Windows Mobile & HTC X3)".

Which one is for our PAPAGO! X5?

Because none of those states that they are maps for PAPAGO! X5 for Windows Mobile.

i had tried both, the result give me is

MFM-Papago Custom 100106 (for Papago Z880 & R58x0, Holux 62-series, Wayway, Altina & X5 for Android)
x5 cannot detect the map. but if u change the .hdr file with x3 .hdr, map can be detected. but cannot perform POI search.

so now im using MFM-Papago Standard 100106 (for Papago X3 for Windows Mobile & HTC X3)

download the map for x3, because i heard of x5 is the modified version of x3.

Though I have just posted a question in the Free MFM-Papago X2/X3/X5 100106 map topic. Lets wait for antyone [The MalFreeMaps Site Admin] to answer our question.

another thing is i think MFM currently is not 100% compatible with x5.

if u want to perform POI search,

for instance, if wan to find the poi at selangor area, wat i did is

Find>Poi search>Areas>folder icon beside Selangor

the result come out is from KL.

then if i choose Singapore, the result is Selangor.

in x3 tis searching works perfect.

X3 doesn't have english version.
Except for those that came together with some HTC devices lah.

Ovi is for nokia leh.

btw google navigation is free too, but currently oni on android

Anyway, just to solve your curiosity, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is not build by Sony Ericsson. Xperia X1 original manufacturer / designer is HTC. Sony Ericsson only does rebranding. Like Naza bought the design of Peugeot 206 & rebrand it as Naza 206 Bestari.

Only Xperia X2 & Xperia X10 is the original product by Sony Ericsson.

wat i know is X2 is actually made by taiwan based company called Mobinnova.

it is also rebranding.

edit: i think use the word outsourcing is better than rebranding for X2

Because if you do, please state it now as I'm about to reply antyong's post.

This way, we can let him know about the bugs of using Windows Mobile X3 Maps on Windows Mobile X5.

PS: He also told me to use Windows Mobile X3 maps on Windows Mobile X5.

alright. so far i just encounter the POI search problem.

google navigation available on windows mobile too.. juz that how many features had been ported to this compare to android version.

nope. u r in totally different platform. juz like u can do this on SE but cant on nokia.

if u just shift from java SE to X1. then u nid have a mindset of 'u r using smartphone'. to test xperia which is similiar to those engineer mode in SE, there is a software u can run then they can test out all those hardware for you, well.. mayb not all

Agent just released 3 new roms, 21889, 28206 and 23518. I'm downloading 23518 now as 28206 is still in the process of uploading. Would love to give 28206 a try but since I've to wait, might as well try 23518 first.

Will report back with bugs later on.

i having problem to setup my msn messenger or hotmail for two days.. dunno why.. connection all ok.. prob on all leo rom.. 23518, 21889 and 20814.. other rom i try ok.. touch IT or energyRom.. is this called bug?
