QUOTE(echoesian @ Jan 6 2010, 07:27 PM) - Spiderman.2002.BluRay.1080p.DTS.x264.dvxa.SAMPLE.-FraMeSToR.mkv - The Beast Stalker.2008.Bluray.720p.AC3.x264-CHD Does anyone have tried to play these movies? When I play the movie, I can clearly see a lot of noise especially on darker areas that something similar when taking photos with high ISO. Just wonder if this is normal for an encoded video or because it is encoded using a low profile? it's grain.. (when encoding to another format like MKV, it could accentuate the grain more depending on encoder settings, not unlike using unsharp mask on photos) I notice spiderman always demo on sony TV showrooms, .. dem grainy.. (and I dun mean sandman part)

QUOTE(echoesian @ Jan 6 2010, 08:33 PM) But as far as I know if the encoding setting is decent enough, the quality is similar with the original BD source? I've uploaded the photo on the first post what photo??

QUOTE(stimix @ Jan 6 2010, 09:30 PM) ehh I might be noob but MKV (~4-8GB) is not really the best PQ..Should get .TS (~16GB) or M2TS (~>20GB) for real blue ray experience? err.. ideally every MKV movie you have is actually a BD rip 30-40GB M2TS file.. but want to have and can get it is 2 different things... Added on January 6, 2010, 9:35 pmQUOTE(low98944 @ Jan 6 2010, 09:30 PM) Above are spiderman blu-ray screenshot taken by http://www.dvdbeaver.com/whats it supposed to show? QUOTE(echoesian @ Jan 6 2010, 09:50 PM) Below is the media info, btw the screenshot is done via PC print screen. That means for 720p with high bit rates is better than 1080p with low bit rates? If for 1080p, what is the recommended minimum bit rate is required to achieve a decent quality? Alamak ... if like that had wasted a lot of bandwidth to download those 1080p movies but with low quality..... QUOTE(zerorulez @ Jan 6 2010, 10:46 PM) we'll just wait AR BD screen cap @ 10:35 you did your homework.. Added on January 6, 2010, 10:55 pmanyway see already.. it's even worse this grain.. due to uncompressed data, so it'll show more grain than MKV.. (means the original film has super lots of grain) due to agressive compression of MKV (smaller file) so all the details - in this case, grain, have to be thrown out (smoothen/blurred) This post has been edited by ar188: Jan 6 2010, 10:55 PM
