just want to add I've had my hands on test with the demo units at apple store. its ok I suppose, if you are one of those with a nice amount of disposable income, sure, why not, people like that blow 10000 on handbags etc. Its a nice thing to have by your bedside, in the toilet, living room, on the go.
If you are the kind of person still struggling with bills or still paying off any CC debt. save it. its not worth it. and don't be an idiot. it has a certain weighty feel, can certainly see some fatigue after 1hr. one would imagine bigger on screen keyboard = easier, actually I found myself mistakenly hitting the side keys qaw quite often and other keys because of its sensitive touch capabilities, it was quite annoying, its ok if you are -careful- iphone apps DO look horrible. and ipad apps are stupid expensive. wouldn't know why anyone would want to watch shows on the go, unless you are a public transport person. there are only so many watch baby laugh youtube videos to watch. also I think 3g version should be default. wifi only is very crippled in mobility. I have the iphone 3gs, thats why I believe its nice to have by your bed, good to have when you wake up and lazy to sit up boot the computer what not, just pick it up and check twitter or mail or whatnot. also nice to have when doing No2 of course. but seriously watching movies, if you can afford iPad, you probably already own a 46+" lcd, might as well watch on that. it is quite fancy, I'm sure with its apple keynote if you're trying to sell something person to person it can be very effective at bedazzling the customer/client. I'll just end it by saying its nice. but don't be an idiot if you haven't even upgrade your computer or own an iphone. iphone>ipad. But if you have $$$, more power to you. myself I will wait for the tablet wars to start, see what other companies do, but I do believe should iPad 2G come out. its probably going to be the magic. ok bye |

From your experience with it, does it do what Steve Jobs says it does best, ie surfing the intrawebs? If it does, then truly the function of the device is to act as an interface to the internet on the go at home.If you are the kind of person still struggling with bills or still paying off any CC debt. save it. its not worth it. and don't be an idiot. it has a certain weighty feel, can certainly see some fatigue after 1hr. one would imagine bigger on screen keyboard = easier, actually I found myself mistakenly hitting the side keys qaw quite often and other keys because of its sensitive touch capabilities, it was quite annoying, its ok if you are -careful- iphone apps DO look horrible. and ipad apps are stupid expensive. wouldn't know why anyone would want to watch shows on the go, unless you are a public transport person. there are only so many watch baby laugh youtube videos to watch. also I think 3g version should be default. wifi only is very crippled in mobility. But if you have $$$, more power to you. myself I will wait for the tablet wars to start, see what other companies do, but I do believe should iPad 2G come out. its probably going to be the magic. ok bye Just imagine this: 1) if you're on the couch and you want to order some item you just saw on the tv, what do you do? Reach for the iPad. Do research on it briefly, buy. (Americans often do that, sometimes my mom does that too) 2) if you are chilling at home, doing nothing and surfing the web in your garden, what do you do? Bring the iPad. Laptops are either bulky (or bulkier) or too small to surf comfortable (like a netbook). My mom does that some times. 3) If you are about to sleep, but still planning your trip to Taiwan or to Europe, what do you do? Lie on the bed, reach out for the iPad. Atm, my mom complains that the laptop gets too hot on her lap, so she just does all of it on the table. Not terribly inconvenient, but you see where the iPad works well for her 4) You are cooking in the kitchen, and have roughly 10 mins to spare. You can't leave the kitchen because you have to watch the fire. What do you do? Reach out for the iPad. So i think the iPad may not be the best item for me to use, because i pretty much lug around my macbook pro everywhere, but it would be perfect for my mom. She does loads of online banking, doesn't type much, surfs a lot, watches youtube videos once in a while and is not exactly tech savvy enough to avoid dangerous websites that infects her netbook with keyloggers. For 2k+, i would spend my money for her birthday which would probably be the most fitting item for her to connect to the internet at home. |

i can imagine the ipad would be terrible for your back and neck. I really don't see how this is going to be appealing even for the older masses. Especially the older masses, when it comes to reading text in such a small viewing pane. Granted text can be zoomed in and out, but that completely misses the point of browsing through articles. Apple's ipad is making it such a hassle for browsers like me who skim through articles looking for something worth reading. And to make matters worst, multitasking isn't supported.
Even if you are to hold it up to match your line of sight without straining your neck, the weight of the ipad is going to be a bother. And the dimensions of the ipad doesn't work for mobile storage because not everyone would carry a fannypack. It's easier to pocket an iphone but not the ipad. This product is doomed to fail. |

I think iPad will not be able to appeal and please all users. If this is the case, just don't bother to buy iPad. Just wait for the next killer device (if any). |

Compromising is when you have separate comparable products and then deciding based on your need while discounting the negative factors of each in order to make a decision.
You, on the other hand, have no idea what compromise is. |

QUOTE(ineser @ Apr 7 2010, 09:52 AM) Yes I have traded before. Was dealing with the iPhone (2G, 3G, 3GS). Last transaction was two weeks ago with stringfellow and his PS3 game, also from the US.If you have a better idea let me know, the deposit is just to cover the DHL fees, I'm not trying to make a lot of money on this, just thought someone might want to tumpang since I'm already getting some. btw let's take this discussion on PM if you're still interested.
