today i tried tethering with my good old N95 8GB. it really kill the battery fast... sweat.gif

but it works! so i guess i don't need the 3G version. saw some review stating that iPad 3G on AT&T cellular seems to have some limitation on appstore and itunes store that cap the file size at 20MB, as well as crappy youtube loading which is even worse than regular FLV quality (which is my main purpose of having a 3G). sweat.gif

tethering with my nokia load youtube without a single problem, everythign stream as like i'm using wifi. so i guess my choice is correct (so obvious i'm brainwashing myself brows.gif)!

maybe will rush out to buy a MiFi...

Not sure what you mean by limited apps, plenty of apps on the App Store although admittedly the US App Store has more stuff than the Malaysian one.

Anyone have tried any Mind Mapping App for iPad..?
*
I am currently waiting for iMindMap for iPad, only because it comes from Buzan, so it will follow the laws of mind mapping as set out by Tony Buzan. There will be several others coming onto the market as well.

If it is not urgent, I think the best thing to do would be to wait, and see who comes out with the best implementation.

That's very true, lots of apps are US only. Search on LYN, there are people selling US iTunes gift cards.

Thanks for the reply warlockimran.
I have just purchased MindNode. Quite a simple app to use. No frills but enough for my daily usage.

Good app but a little pricey ($7.99) because it is only meant for iPad.
MindNode is Universal.

It ain't a notebook replacement, think of it as being complementary. No it does not have any USB ports and it supports Microsoft Office formats via 3rd party applications or Apple's iWorks suite with information being available in the posts located in this thread so feel free to search and there is also a iPad app thread by String fellow so you can look into that as well.

Why the iPad? Pretty sure everyone has their own reason for it, I see it as an additional device to take along with me whilst leaving my heavy laptop at the office and being able to do some of my work. Again you may have to see how it fits into your life before purchasing one, to fit your life around it means it may not be a suitable purchase smile.gif

Is it wise to get a 3G model in Malaysia?
I've been told that it's as good as getting the wifi one.
Can anyone enlighten me on this case.
Thanks.

People buy iPad for various reason. I suggest don't buy an iPad because other people recommend you.
Try to understand your needs first and then ask the members whether the iPad have that solution or not on iPad.
so - do you mind sharing with us - "what exactly you are looking for in iPad?" (other than just USB port..)

You should buy the iPad 3G if:-
1 - You have the extra cash
2 - If you are willing to spend another 3G unlimited service
3 - Willing to cut the simcard (if current operator is not supporting the micro-sim)
4 - Willing to wait much longer (June or July etc)

Don't compare apple and oranges. If you are a pc freak, this is not the right place for you.... iPad is unique...experience it first, then you will never look at conventional laptops..or net books.. biggrin.gif
