Model: Yamaha EL57 (electronic synth). It's a RM17k machine that comes with very decent speakers.

Two large drivers and four smaller ones are used.

I play the instrument, but I also connect my ipod to it because it beats the shit out of my stereo. I listen mostly to rock (muse, hey monday, paramore and greenday) and i love the strong midrange electric guitar noise the machine produces.

Came back from overseas recently and noticed something puzzling. The Right speakers (one large, one mid and a tweeter) all are alot softer than the left. Swapped around the AUX cable and it was still the same.

It's not like there's no sound. It's just very very soft. Pulled out the L aux cable and there was still music from the R side. However it was so very much softer. NOT MUFFLED. NOT STATIC. NOT DISTORTED. Just plain softer.

A bit of testing with the instrument (panning instruments etc) showed the same problem. Sound is simply much softer on on the right.

What could be the source of the problem?

As far as i know the machine is relatively simple and there arent even any settings for panning the AUX signal.

that's the puzzling part. As far as i know, there arent any balance settings (panning) for aux input.

cause I was bored I found this
http://www.manualnguide.com/manual-get/7491/
and downloaded the manual

in the trouble shooting section it says
"The plug of the cable from the speaker unit is disconnected. Refer to the
separate “Assembly Instructions,” and reconnect the plug securely."

perhaps this is the cause of your fault?

Wow.

Thank you thank you thumbup.gif

karma +1

Done that. It's not the problem.

All three R speakers are soft. So i doubt it's a loose cable. Also, there is no way my mp3 player is driving the speakers as it's not powerful enough.
