even rough mat like exact mat also wont la , some people are just too paranoid about losing their teflon feet n shit , no offense yeah but rough mat seem to have a bad effect on my wrist cause when you rest your hand above the mouse pad , the mousepad itself is hard surface so its not that comfortable and it makes my wrist reddish. anyone facing same situation with me? planning to change to a thicker mousepad.

ure bloody wrong, mate. rough mousepad is a no-no.. i used to frequently change the teflon feet of my former Deathadder bcoz of this.

AVF sucks Razer Guy's balls.. they produce the crappiest products known to Man.. here's my breakdown of a non-biased gaming peripheral review (based on value-for-money). Personally I am a Razer mouse junkie.

Best gaming mouse: Razer (duh!)
Best keyboard: Logitech (for the superb G15/G19)
Best mousepad:
(a) Hard surface mats: Razer
(b) Thin surface mats: Steelseries / Razer
© Thick mats: Steelseries / CM Storm (and very reasonable pricing)
Best gaming headset: Steelseries (especially the Siberia).

Hmm. I strongly disagree with ur 'claim' that best gaming mouse is razer's. Yes, razer mice might as well be the best looking mouse out there, but when it comes to quality control, they're worse than microsoft mice. Ive had headaches with my ex Deathadder (bought twice, RMA-ed twice), Mamba (uneven battery cap, lacklustre battery life), Lachesis (wheel scroll problem), Barracuda (no sound at left side of cup), Exactmat (the surface already 'haus', all the four rubber feet are peeled off), Goliathus (threads peeling off the surface), Tarantula (all the alphabet keys are faded totally), Lycosa (extremely dimmed backlighting, unresponsive media touch panel). The driver sucks, they barely works. I have to admit i was once crazy fanboi of Razer products, i bought almost all of their products (as of the list above), but their build quality are gradually degrading which really turned me off.

Hard surface mats, razer, u're sure about that? Ive posted some pics of my gone and lost (and thrashed) exactmat in the old version of LYN Razer thread (the good old times when there were no SPAMMERS with their incomprehensible English who chit chat about prices, irrelevant and unconstructive comments/posts when they can ask through Personal Message). The hard surface of the exactmat are so 'haus' that they even look like the smooth side of the exactmat even after 2-3 months of normal usage.

So, no offence, but i just have to blurt my voice out. The only 'good' Razer mouse out there is Boomslang.

two different opinions, i can see ur points and his, and of cuz compared to mine.. well, i don angry with you in some area smile.gif
i think razer is improving and working its way towards producing the better gaming products. they used to have lots of faulty in laser mouse, but now they are improving.
design wise, its getting more complicated and nice, which is a thumb up.
i think i agree with u about the hard mat. but soft mat goliathus, i have been using it for nearly 6 months, but still it looks news, mayb u're not reallly protecting and taking care of ur stuffs. tats y they get worn out or smth easily. felt sorry for that smile.gif
anyway, any product u suggest will not wear off, will be perfect and have no flaws? any company can produce a hard mat which doesn not wear off after 10 years of gaming? =D u name it, i look and research bout it.
and how come u got so many rma problems with your mouse? my deathadder no problem wo, and my fren's too. my other fren using lachesis, but no problem as well..
tarantula, how long have u been using it? u cant expect a keyboard to still have all its print there after many years of hardcore gaming rite? and plus ur hand is sweaty. of coz will wash away the printings rite?
and yes i agree, lycosa memang extremly dim backlighting.

Trust me, the more complicated the design is, the more problematic it will be. Design wise, the best and most comfortable for right handed gamers is the old timer Deathadder. Yes, Mamba, the flagship mouse for Razer is basically wireless Deathadder but still Deathadder is more ergonomic and comfortable due to some design flaw in mamba. naga mouse is just a laughing stock. Looking back at the old times where Razer Diamonback was the king of gaming mouse, the launch of the first version of Deathadder (it was so successful that they released the refreshed version) and Razer Mantis as the 'true' gaming pad, then compare them with Razer today's offering, Abyssus, Megasoma, Naga or whatever the name is.. Which of these 2 different era of Razer products are much more comfortable to use, cheaper, almost hassle free, better build quality?
Oh yeah, just wanna add that the Goliathus is used to wear was the control edition. im not sure about the speed edition (most users are wearing) but the wear and tear signs are so obvious even upon the first day of using it. Just to make myself clear, i am perfectionist, thus taking care of my properties with love.
Yes, i have to agree with u that no company can produce a hard mat which doesnt wear off after 10 years, but like i said in earlier post, i wore Exactmat 2-3 months upon purchasing brand new (if u wanna know from whom i bought, i bought from jy14, old timer razer reseller who had quit LYN not too long ago). I do gaming on regular basis but i can assure u that that mouse pad had yet to be abused.
How come my mice all faulty? Better ask Razer's quality control department. Maybe i bought the so-called 'bad' batch units but then again, why couldnt they prevent these problem in the first place? hmm.gif The quality control is so bad, even the 2 years warranty provided by Razer is not enough.
I dont have sweaty palm mind you, and the alphabet keys are faded away less than a year. do try to make more research on how bad tarantula is.. The letters are all missing and i cant even connect to BIOS (the keys are not responding upon booting the pc). well, my trusty old logitech ps/2 port keyboard still alive and kicking without any issue after 6 years of gaming, why cant the more expensive Razer keep up with their counterparts?

From my point of view, I seriously do not know whether it's a person luck to get the defect product or is it Razer that bad? Mind you, I ain't a Razer Fan Boy. But from the very 1st Razer (CH and Destructor) i got, the only issue i got from CH is the logo lights suddenly just gone. Other than that, it works perfectly and served me well. Then comes the Barracuda HP-1, I got it for second hand. Lucky me, I RMA'ed 2 days before the warranty period ended, and i got a new replacement of it. Reason i RMA'ed, cause it has some distortion sound. Just try my luck to RMA and a new one was replaced. Comes the Lycosa mirror edition, heard from LYN saying that the back light will become dimmer, the touch panel not working. For mine, it works perfectly and Hope it WILL work perfectly. As for Mako, whoever owns mako will understand how good is the speakers, no?

Those are my point of view. Not to offend anyone here nor hard feelings. Just to share my experiences having Razer in my room. biggrin.gif

Oh, did i not mention my moray is also doing great. rclxms.gif

well, why do u RMA ur razer stuff in the first place? Because they failed to performed as advertised/faulty. my point here is that when u own a razer product, u'll have a greater tendency to RMA it. Yes, no electronic products are perfect, but with Razer, the rate of them to get faulty is higher. I dont recall any electronic brands/ gaming brands that requires more firmware updates than Razer to fix some bugs/issues in their products.

smile.gif No offense, Mako is a good speaker, but is it worth the price? hmm.gif For rm1k, i can get other brands speaker like Audioengine, M-Audio Studiophile for less price but yet able to provide better sound quality whistling.gif even the edifier s-series provide better sound quality than razer mako.
ure buying mako because
a) the unique design
b) the gaming brand
c) THX certified.
d) funky touch sensitive control (failed)
Well, THX certified my a$$.. They're just marketing gimmick for Christ's sake. Overbloated bass is one of the common imperfection the so-called THX enhancement speakers. Well, im not just talking about mako, im talking about logitech speakers as well. I do agree that they are LOUD, but in terms of overall sound quality they produced, there are much better speakers out there. we're just influenced by better marketing strategy Razer has deployed towards us consumers.

Dont get me wrong. Like i said earlier few posts behind, there are some pretty good Razer product (in terms of build quality), specifically Boomslang CE, but then again......

If my memory serves me well, there was one time where after the release of first batch of Mamba, Razer decided to include teflon ring around the sensor of the later batch. If u're in the first batch, how would u fell about the situation? Pretty sucks eh, paying for the same price but with no teflon ring. Btw, my mamba has teflon ring but i sold them for rm240 2 weeks later to forumer niclasteoh. Why did i sell them dirt cheap? bcoz the stupid battery cap not alligned well with the rest of the base, causing the mouse to get unnecessary friction, thus making the base to get scratched and tearing my QCK Mass mousepad.

Oh, have i mentioned that Moray is one of the crappiest earphone ive ever heard? For the same price, go for the likes of Koss, Sennheiser, etc. You will regret buying moray. No offense, just saying them for the truth.

But his point is that he needs the receipt for RMA.
I send my DA and Barracuda for RMA without receipt to my reseller, and they replace them with new units. smile.gif (without receipts brows.gif )
