Wish u all Happy New Year 2010!

Welcome to my little worklog of my 1st aluminium chassis modding project involving aluminium panel cutting.

First, let's take some views on the original Lian Li PC-V351R Chassis. Sorry yaa... these uploaded pictures below are not so clear due to my deteriorating Digital Camera

Next, I measure and come out with a sketch before cutting works are performed on the Left Aluminium Panel of Lian Li PC-V351R

Attached Image
This is my sketch

Attached Image
Stick paper tape on Aluminum Panel and draw all necessary lines according to the initial sketch. After that, get ready Black and Decker's Rotary Tool with Cutting Disc.

Attached Image
Then, perform cutting works with minimum pressure and slowly move the Cutting Disc along the line to be cut. Here goes the cutting line.

Attached Image
Cut... Cut... Cut... Finally, small window has been cut out from Left Aluminum Panel of Lian Li PC-V351R smile.gif

Attached Image
But the cut edges of small window are not so nice, which are a little bit rough. So must perform sanding later on nod.gif

Useful advice on the use of dremel during cutting works:

"Read and understand the tool manual before using it. Wear proper eye protection and dust mask"

OK, this is my idea of cutting and engraving works on NuclearTec Flaming-Icez Acrylic Panel icon_rolleyes.gif

These acrylic panels will appear on the 'windows' of the cut Aluminium panels in my previous posts.

This is just my initial idea, and the cutting/engraving works will take place in these few days.

Hi fren, at the moment we do not provide such service... In view of the high cost of such custom made chassis, I think buying a chassis then modding it is more popular in malaysia... wink.gif

First, I used dremel's polishing wheel. Then, used normal sand paper (no. 280).

Actually, the project was completed quite long time ago before my holiday. But only until today, I can find little time to upload some more pictures showing the progress.

Let's look at the acrylic panels that I cut & engraved:
