Hello, i was helping my dad choosing the best performance for LCD TV (range between 32 and 37 inch).
So, what so different between fullHD and HD ready although one is 1080p generated and 1 more will be 720p.

Do the screen effect will be easy to seen for 32 and 37 LCD TV with fullHD mode?
Erm, toshiba series for 37A65 good or not since it is fullHD with the price of RM2800

The difference of course is in resolution. You are fine with a 32" if all you want is 720p. Starting from 37 and up, you can see a difference between 720p and 1080p.

Again, you won't see much effect of 1080p on a 32".

Also 1080p comes into play with Blu-ray Discs. So best bet, if your father is not going to update in the next five years, get a 1080p TV at 37" and up. Make sure it has 3 HDMI inputs at least and it has a good picture to your eyes.

You're not helping with this post. See his price range and size and the fact that they are looking for LCDs. Kuros are Pioneer's range of plasmas. Very nice but very pricey.

Likewise, its better to pair up a Blu ray discs with a 46" and above FHD set to get the maximum effect.Try to subsribe to Astro HD if possible as this would definitely make your purchase much better

For 32 inch, go for 1366x768 rez @8f (not may 1080p models anyways for this size), no noticeable pixels. For 37 inch, 1366x768 rez still fine @8f but @10ft may be better. Just be sure, even tho the display is not 1080p, it is capable to handle all current video signals up to 1080p/24/50/60.

Between 32 and 37 the nearest is 42 for the Pioneer
Kuro for size of 42 very expensive and rarely ppl buy it.
Its still going for RM8888 at some places.
The 50inch just need to topup a bit to get it.

If the price difference is not that much, go for FullHD. You can get LG FullHD for less than 2K now. Very good set of features too.

Actually the last 42 inch Kuro was 428XG (now ddiscontinued) at RM4500 display model @SenQ sometime ago. And RM8800 is for the 508XG which IMHO still the best 50 inch display around. This model can easily be found still. And the KRP500A full HD 50 inch is @RM13K... dropped 50% from 26K last year smile.gif Kuro will no longer exist by middle of this year.
Back to LCD, if you wanna get 32 inch, don't get the bottom range coz the PQ sucks due to bad scaler, and motion blur etc. Once again, u dont need fullHD for 32 inch.

p/s don't test drive a Kuro coz you will not sleep thereafter, same goes for BMW smile.gif haha....

I think still can get the 42inch at Jusco for RM8888..usually see the same unit hanging for a few months oledi.
I see most McD are using this Panel with Astro...and amazingly, there is no Screen Burn at all with that orbiter thing doin its work

But 50inch one is awesome...wish I can afford such elite stuff

508XG as good as it is, you can't call it best if it can't do Full HD..

and 428XG is kind of crap, 1024x768 (can't even resolve 720p pixel for pixel) biggrin.gif

for 37" LCD/Plasma, I will go for HD ready since the price is cheap; however anything above 42" will need full HD for sure, at least for me.

U shud consider plasma rather than lcd for ur father friend as much of ol'folk, they wil spend much of their time watching astro than go for blue ray xperience.just need to topup a bit for 42"plasma,as much as i know nowadays plasma price had go down.
Ive seen 1 Kuro hanging in sen Q sunway carnival..if not mistaken, its 50" model, but not sure which model..tagged around rm8k sumtin'..well,ive fell for it oledi..juz hv a thought of replacing my sammy plasma wif kuro..but in my dream la.. tongue.gif
