Well, being in China sucks and I was lagging (and made others lag) quite a lot.
But I think if between Msian then it got potential, just need people interested. The possibility to play multi and save in the middle is good though since the game can be pretty long |

Yar, I bought the CoN xpac a while back too but Tidalis just isnt appealing enough to me to spend money on it at the moment.
Sad to see someone like him who actually had a semi-successful stuff going on still struggling for cash... I was a bit worried seeing them "over extend" themselves a bit lately with the Unity stuff, charity xpac, Tidalis etc. Hopefully sales pick up a bit =S |

Good stuff!
I will also give it a spin, I bought Children of Nerzhul already, now to find a way to activate into steam so it saves my key there... |

Yar the original tutorials were pretty hardcore and took a long time to finish, but they did give you quite good tip on some advances techniques like gate raiding or research raiding and went further than the "left button to select, right to attack" than most games
I just triggered a new game to see the new graphics and starting planet conditions, looks pretty different yar. I also like that they apparently made end game less of a grind which was what put me off of finishing most of my games, there wasnt so much strategy at the end but just having the bigger stick to beat the AI. Now if I had more time to play =P |

QUOTE(Grif @ Oct 29 2010, 09:55 PM) Man I booted my first real game and had to stop to look up for info...Like so many new stuff in the AI worlds it's quite crazy, even the usually semi-empty ones next to your homeworld... All the different types of guardians (these replace the turrets if I am not wrong right?), guard posts (I like this idea a lot, more variety) etc. Arcen team is really amazing in the depth they put into the game when even old timers have to re-learn the game after a big update... It's like they could more or less reboot the whole forum on their website because most of the info in there is out-dated now... New Xpac for December apparently... will definitely get it as soon as they open sales to support them, they are doing quite an amazing support for their game... |

You can buy it from Arcen website and then enter the Serial into Steam when it's released, it will be added to the Steam DLC list etc.
I did that for Children of Neizrul and worked fine I buy it from them to make sure they get all the money, not that I think Steam is profiteering from them, but Arcen is running low on cash so might as well make sure they get as much as possible. On a game point of view, I find the game to be quite much tougher than before, planets tend to be filled much more with Ion cannons and co than before. That or I got unlucky |

QUOTE(Grif @ Nov 5 2010, 12:47 PM) Yeah, but Ion cannons dont seem to be the horror they once were. Musta been nerfed one way or another. (or I just gotten used to dealing with them. Mark III bombers suicide runs always works.) True, I think they fire less often than before.I do feel my lovely parasites have been nerfed though, might be time to change to another starting ship type, I heard laser gatling were the new hot topics |

Alright, I switched on the Nezrul Enclave mini-faction and.... it's painful when 500 of them pops up in one of your backend planets without much defenses >_<
With my luck I had both an Enclave pop AND the Human Marauders popping at the same time on the same planet... was about 700 ships suddenly appearing without warning and without using wormhole (so bypassing my tractor turrets totally).... AI Wars, game which always find a new way to kick you in the balls when you think you are finally beating the AI |

* Gormaz casts Necromancy lvl 1 *
Light of the Spire Xpac is out! I have been following the Beta for a while now (bought it directly from Arcen a long time ago) and it has lots of good stuff in it. New ships, some real quest, big ships inbetween golems and starships, lots of balancing etc. Now if only I had more time to spend on it.... |
