thanking shinjun to have created V7 and posted up the upcoming outdoor shooting info smile.gif

let's make it happen, and if it's successful this round, we'll make it a fixed monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly event for all D40/D40x/D60/D3000/D5000 users!

good morning guys!!

i have a bad news & a good news to anounce today smile.gif

the bad news is - another group of photographer friends who were trying to organise the same shooting session like ours, informed me that the padi in sekinchan has just been harvested sad.gif so we have no more greeny padi field to shoot and we have to change our plan. (dont worry i sure will organise to shoot at sekinchan again 4 months later!).

in order not to let you all down, especially those who have confirmed your attendance, i have another replacement here.

here's the good news - the theme has been changed to "beauty & the puppy". 2 models (not ivy & ashley anymore) will bring their cute puppy for the shooting, and our mission is to capture the fun time their have with the puppy - running, hugging, playing toys, & etc. so the location has also been changed to lake garden KL. the venue is subject to changed should the garden authority does not allow us to bring in pet.

since it's too difficult to ask the puppy to diam-diam sit down for us to shoot, so a reflector holder is not required now. so i have to announce that the enrollment for this shooting session is closed for now, unless someone pull out. i will announce the increase of headcount IF i managed to get another model who own a puppy.

for those who has missed the boat, dont be sad. spread the words to all your friends, and invite all your female friends (acceptable outlook please) who own a puppy to become our model (i believe you will be flooded with replied if you post it in facebook). they dont necessarily have experience in posing/shooting, because we would lead & guide them by then. let me know if you have model(s) interested to join us, then i'll increase the headcount accordingly.

shinjun, please update the above amended event info on the 1st page. thanks!

no VC.. XR can eh?? hahah.. already have sigma 18-50.. thats why i should let go this tammy..
*
do you mind telling us the reason behind you're letting go your tammy instead of the siggy? thanks smile.gif

coz i am a happy user of this tammy 17-50, and it has many good user reviews too (though it's common with it's "slow/hunting focusing weakness at low light condition), so i thought it's one of the best 3rd party constant aperture lens for beginner like me.

hi guys,

the shooting is still on, dont worry smile.gif

about the shooting on 31/01/10, the location has been changed to damansara park (in front of 1 utama new wing) because this is the only park (in kl & pj) that allow pet to enter. i've done survey at the park, it's a very nice place for photoshooting coz there's man-made little lake, wooden huts, walk way path, and nicely maintained garden.

like what i've told illegaldragon87, we still have our same 2 models, but one of the models is not able to bring her pet. so we'll shoot her only on sunday. another one remain unchanged.

maxh3h3, pls include me in buying the ebook. i've thought of that too but nobody wanted to share with me. now i am so happy to know that you're buying the ebook too smile.gif of course, if possible, get more people to share so that it'll get cheaper - economy of scale smile.gif

another thing, anyone of you heard of Zamrud? he is an experienced photography trainer in photomalaysia.com forum, and he has trained over 3000 students for the past 3 years. pls feel free to check out his works in flickr & photomalaysia forum.

i am in the midst of negotiation with him to hold photography workshops at a discounted price for all of us. normal price for beginner workshop is RM150-RM180 (check out his workshop ad Zamrud), but he agreed to charge only RM100 each for all these workshops - from beginner to advanced. but the only condition is we need to get 20 persons minimum to attend the workshop. are you guys interested?

i dont really worry about the dog lol, too many pets on sunday walking around. I only afraid if theres any Muslim photog coming only.

brian, pm me your number for the banhup ebook ok

we must respect his work hehe

Do we really need a beginner class anymore? its really for those who dont know about PSAM only .
I think anyone of us got enough knowledge to show some quick beginner guide on the road  thumbup.gif
I may not know much but i ll teach u everything that i know smile.gif
*
for muslim photog, please bear with me, i've overlooked on that issue when i organise this shooting. we'll make sure they dont come near you on that day.

max, pm-ed you my number already smile.gif

since we'll get 20 person to attend his workshop, i am sure there are beginners (especially when i am posting this in D40/D40x/D60/D3000/D5000 thread) & amateurs. so the trainer will start from "the rule of 3rd" to cater for the beginners (he knows it will be boring for some of you), then he'll jump quickly to the extention of the "rule of 3rd", and he call that "the rule of 69", which is the higher level of composition concept, and this is what photography contest judges judge/score any photo. i believe not many have heard of that, so he'll cover that too, so that everyone could go home with (more or less) some extra photography knowledge.

thereafter, he will also touch on wedding photography too. so that we can possibly get some wedding jobs in future to earn back our investment on the gears & his workshop. isn't that great?

then, he will also create a syllabus on landscape photography for our group, so that we get to go for an outstation shooting similar with "photosafari" (pls google "photosafari" and you'll know how exciting it could be smile.gif). that way, we wont come back from a travelling trip with hundreds of so-so only photos, but we'll come back with all "wow" photos.

all these workshops are at the special price because we could give him the "bulk", and you have no way to get this price if you walk-in/write-in to him personally. i believe no other photography trainer could offer that price too (as of now lah).

i am publishing this workshop in facebook photographer groups too, so i believe i would get 20 persons to join very soon. for those who are interested in joining the workshop, please pm me asap. we'll start the 1st woskshop (hopefully by late feb or early march) as soon as we get 20 persons smile.gif

we really had fun in yesterday's photo shooting, not only we shoot wendy & her puppy, we also shoot other ppl's puppy too because the park was full of puppy, most of them are very cute!

thank you guys (maxh3h3 & illegaldragon) for joining us and making it a success smile.gif i'll sure will organise another session sometime soon. but mostly likely the next session will not be a photo shooting session, it's the workshop tentatively by early march. hope to get more to join me. I've even got 2 photog friends joining this workshop all the way from mentakap, 1 of them is Alan who joined our shooting yesterday.

yup, we enjoyed ourselves self-snapping with the fish eye biggrin.gif but too bad both models and their friends already left, otherwise we could even self-snap our group photo!

thanks to illegaldragon, i got poisoned by his tammy sp90 sad.gif even though i have to manual focus (no AF motor) with my d60, but the bokeh is damn nice! will upload some of the photos soon.

looking forward for the TT, i'll surely join you guys if the location (i'm ok with BTS) & the timing are right for me smile.gif

I am so happy to see there's another shooting in this group, especially the model is our own kaki - Maxh3h3 biggrin.gif let's make our group the most active/happening photography group in this forum!!

Theme : Maxh3h3 Pre Wedding Photo Shooting

Date : 4th April 2010 (Sunday)

Time : 8.00am

the earlier the better, because we have to finish shooting by 11.00am. the sun light after 11.00am is too challenging to shoot. Then, we can have lunch/TT after the session to get to know each other, since we wanted to have a TT session but it has been postponed.

Location : Let's vote
1. Putrajaya
2. UPM (vote: brian3455)
please suggest if you have better ideas, but of course, we'll choose to go the the location with the most votes.

Confirmed kaki :
1. brian3455
2.
3.
4.
5.
preferred headcount is 6-10 photog, anything more than 10 will spoil all photog's mood because you hardly get a nice spot to shoot because it's too crowded.

Please feel free to join and make it another success outing/shooting. Registration will close once the number of photog hit 10 - siapa cepat dia dapat!!

shinjun, appreciate if you could post these details on the 1st page. thanks! smile.gif
