the pattern really simple, let took example, if team A have UCL knock out match in midweek, they will field their star on weekend league game, if the lead by two goal or even one goal, they will sub out their star, normally the star only paly 60-70 minutes if have tough European game in midweek, it normally not always, sometimes manager use the star 90 minutes

let take example, last night when Barca lead 1 goal Guardiola do nothing, when Messi score twice and have three goal lead Guardiola immediately sub out Messi and Iniesta, even the match only 5 minute left he still bring the star out to avoid injury to make sure star player have fitness for game vs Stuggart

another example is Sevilla FC, last game the manager didnt put Fabiano in 1st eleven because want to save Fabiano energy for game vs CSKA, he only bring Fabiano in when his team still can not take a lead

this look simple but we should think consequences when BPL team have important Europe match
