My god.. 70 pages.. Sorry guys, I didn't read every pages.. So, someone may have questioned this, but maybe not.. What if after a year (of the contract), I want to revert back to SD? Will they change the devices/equipments back to previous one? Will I ever be charged?

QUOTE(willkso @ Jan 15 2010, 04:25 AM)
The CS told me that I can cancel the HD subscription and use back the same Byond decoder for the SD service.
*
Hmm.. interesting.. Well I seriously hope they will add more HD channels ASAP... Coz right now I'm split between subscribing or not to.. Oh, by the way, earlier this morning I called their CS to ask about the RM20 service charge. She explained that the price will remain the same no matter how many channels have become HD.. The RM20 is like a HD-enabler to me.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what she told me.

QUOTE(dxjb @ Jan 16 2010, 01:11 AM)
Hye..
It's me again
The colours of the cable id Red, Green and Blue?
So the Yellow, Red and White is not needed?
Im afraid to go to the shop and maybe be con
Less than RM100? How much is the range?
So is there any brand I should go for?
So the cable is called component cable right?
*
Oh, that is not component cable. That is err, I know it as a PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3 default cable. It's low quality coz the yellow cable carries all the visual signals while the red and white cable carries right and left sound respectively (stereo).

Component cable is capable of displaying visuals up to 1080i while the 'default PS2/PS3' cable can only do 480i/p and/or 560i/p? Kinda.. But the point is component is better. Way better. (But of course no match to HDMI) And yes, the colors of component cable is Red, Green and Blue which means it carry the signals of the cable color (Red cable carry red color signal only, Blue etc etc) which means it is much more specific rather than the 'default PS2/PS3' yellow cable that does all the visuals. Sound must be brought only with that red and white cables (which means you will get a stereo sound output) or use the digital outwadljfagrihna oh whatever the name is if you want 5.1 channel surround sound (I can't use 'em coz my sound system only accept red n white input.. sad.gif

Hope u get what I mean.

I'm looking forward to A*s-throw byond. (reminds me of PS3 ads, PLAY B3YOND)

quite a number of people here do own a LCD to enjoy Byond but don't have HT or a AVR.
*
Ouch.. that hurts.. Well, I do own a HT but it doesn't support optical. It only have a red and white audio in. The HT will perform optimally if used with its DVD upscale player. Mine is a Philips DVD upscaling to 1080p with 5 speakers.

to all sifu, my question is simple, is it worth to get astro beyond now or wait until there is more HD contents made available by astro? i am using 42 full HD LCD now...
*
Probably if I were u, I will wait for a 3D compatible TV. My 1 cent.

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jan 21 2010, 11:54 AM)
Do you have subscription to either Movie, Learning or Sports package? No point getting now if you don't have subscription to any of the said packages, since you won't get HD channels anyway (all HD channels require subscription to the corresponding SD packages, the RM30/month is a "HD enabler" price). Otoh, if you have either one of the packages particularly the Learning package, get it now, don't wait. Nat Geo HD and History HD is absolutely breathtaking.

Heck, even if you don't have any of the packages mentioned above, just add in Learning package and go for beyond. It's very worth it.
*
HD enabler? Macam my word je. lol. Anyways, RM30? RM20 rite?

PLEASE WAIT FOR THE B.yond THREAD VERSION 3.0 on TUESDAY. TQ
*
Why you mentioned it twice? We can't post anymore for now till v3?

Anyways, I was too sad about the absent of Optical In on my HT. So when I got back home n glued to the screen for hours (my 1st time watch b.yond), I realised the sound wasn't up to par with all the breaking egg, bouncing balls, flying water n 'You are watching (____) in HD". So I got up n take a good look again at my HT. I realised I'm a dumbass. There's Digital In. After some adjustments, I got Boom Boom Pow-ed. So again, glued to the screen.. n sound. N gosh, I need to sleep. Haven't taken my bath even. laugh.gif

Journey about getting B.yond installed:

Sunday-17.1.10 : Submit online form
Monday-18.1.10 : Received call from Astro twice but missed it. Called
their CS immediately to call me back again. =p
Tuesday-19.1.10 : B.yond installer called and an appointment arranged.
Wednesday-20.1.10 : I'm B.yond-ed.

So, I have to add my name to the list by myself?

Oh, talking about problems, I got some as well. When I was watching HBO HD and sometimes the sound isn't in sync with the video (but only in certain movies). Sometimes, when I was watching a HD ads in NatGeo HD, the sound goes a bit fuzzy. It's like Dolby Digital at first but then stereo and alternating always till that ad is gone.

True. The Digital In/Coaxial port looked very much like the L/R audio in port. But instead of two port , DI/Coax use only 1 port.
