QUOTE(vaires @ Jan 15 2010, 05:55 PM) just today astro-man came and installed astro b-yond to replace old astro.but the problem is i used to share astro on 2 lcds using coaxial cable (for a/v)and wireless transmitter(remote control).1 in living room n 1 in bedroom. anyone know how to split it (hdmi cable?)? astro decoder is located in my living room. TQ.... HDCP protection on HDMI prevents it. However HDMI can go pretty far 15 m (or more) get a hdmi switch.... This post has been edited by BeastX: Jan 15 2010, 06:06 PM

QUOTE(vaires @ Jan 15 2010, 06:13 PM) HDCP?u mean i can't split hdmi from a decoder to 2 lcds? High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection ..... A handshake of source and display is required.. 1 source and 2 displays, not possible. unless HDCP is not enabled on A B.yond u also can use a HDCP stripper to by-pass the protection. Got it, KK, Sabah: (a bit less than a month, schedule/weather conflict)
Comparison to Japan's Cable 1080i to Astro's Satellite B.yond 1080i (did not manage to test JP satellites' broadcast):
Astro handles fast moving sea/water/stream flow compression much better than JP's cable provider. 1080i on JP's shows up as blocks... Byond some blocks but very miniscule.
Though JP's cable adds lots of information to their video feed, Real-time weather/forecast for local and all of Japan.... multiple languages/multiple translations... and lots of functoinal interactive stuff.

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jan 20 2010, 04:34 PM) Ok, I have a few questions. If I'm using HDMI, sometimes the TV will fail to show picture/sound. If switch to composite, okay. Had to switch off mains and switch back on. I think few users here also have that problem. Is it a problem with the decoder? I would say it's the HDCP thing, connections must be establish from the start... so switch on the TV/monitor before the decoder..... also had to switch decoder off and on (with a Dell U2410).... I have 3 other screen (and TV) to test.

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jan 21 2010, 09:21 AM) No. For record I can wait for B.Yond DVR function. My problem is my preferred display is a Dell 245WFP screen, which is the biggest in my room and is also conveniently positioned ....... I believe there was never a Dell monitor with that number yet. There is the 2407wfp, 2408wfp and 2405fpw (which does not support HDCP through DVI)... from your statements I guess your monitor is the 2407wfp which does not have HDMI input....
