Ehh if based on the same GPS satelite signal (Well GPS signal is much weaker), Those staying in mountainous region or dish blocked by highrises, That will mean trouble dy.. Lotsa of inteferences from signal bouncing around the highrises & mountains.....Well that's on GPS signal-lah and those wth GPS will curse on the "lost satelite reception" prompt esp driving up Genting/ Camaron Highland or even in the middle of KL! QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jan 7 2010, 03:54 PM) I think they get better reception because they're on higher ground than us, even Temerloh. Added on January 7, 2010, 4:30 pmThere is no such button/icon. Just press OK till the page wth all the satelite numbers... QUOTE(darenlks @ Jan 7 2010, 04:25 PM) bro, Do you mean after entering into the signal strength page in CH 18, it supposed to have the "OK" button at the left bottom of the screen ? I tried many time but still see no button for me to choose the channel intended This post has been edited by stimix: Jan 7 2010, 04:30 PM

I hv a strong feeling certain astro installers are trying to collect the 65cm dish for their own advantages..sumore changing to the same of dish from another customer

Added on January 8, 2010, 7:14 amProbably 1st gen Panny Plasma ..So far those using Plasma dun really face this prob inc me...perfecto.. QUOTE(tks203 @ Jan 8 2010, 02:59 AM) Just installed Astro HD today. Problem with HDMI connection to Panasonic Plasma, cannot get picture when selecting 720P or 1080i. 576P does display picture but distorted. The same plasma connecting to PS3 and ACRyan Media player with HDMI without any problem. The installer can't offer any help. Anyone of you having such problem? Some of you posted to use Component Video for HD. I tried but it does not allow selecting "High Definition" in TV setting. Only "Standard Definition" is shown. Please help. This one probably current trend..Long-long time ago they charged RM10 late pyt charges although you just late by a day!! and if u dun pay the late pyt, they will add another RM10 a mth later & again...this is typical Ah Long dy!! Lucky after mths of arguements, I managed to get it waived...Nowadays they improved dy..no more RM10 for 1 day late.. QUOTE(JOR23N @ Jan 9 2010, 07:51 AM) When u not clearing your bills, they will straight away terminate your service without hesitation.

I think you should tell them that Stamp duty act requrement is only for new account opening and not switching of plan..Like that, everytime add or delete a package also RM10 stamp duty!! Stamp duty is paid to Government...If they collect it without following to stamp duty act, we can complain to IRD! Unless, they inform you this is their Admin or service charge ..So far my Jan bill free of such charges..If yes...I will start complaining dy.. QUOTE(tmsuxxk @ Jan 20 2010, 10:02 AM) No, I'm not a new customer But the Astro cs did informed me RM 10 stamp duty is for the activate for this additional B.yond charges. If too heavy also died wan-lah...but major improvement to older DTU liao...less signal loss except really heavy thunderstorm...This time me also sked, switch off evberthing QUOTE(low98944 @ Jan 20 2010, 01:33 PM) Signal dead or alive? Added on January 20, 2010, 2:16 pmBut what i need to know is how much is the improvement? It's tremendous improvement & u will get atlest 20% better SQ or a mere 2% improvement that normal ear/noob like me can't really differentiate...I remembered getting the expensive RCA/AV cable wth gold plated to replace my AV connection to my AVR years ago...& I dun really hear any diff between the cheapo RM6 AV cable & the RM6o AV cable.. QUOTE(tigerporc @ Jan 20 2010, 01:08 PM) There is a difference, for digital, you need optical or coaxial. (And reading the Astro B.yond connecting Sony AVR/TV post, it is necessary for dolby 5.1) I recommend just getting the ones sold at ACE hardware, not so expensive and there is some quality. Nah let them take to the court for a small petty RM10..haha...I remembered challenged them for not waiving the crazy RM10 late payt charges which is ridicolous just bcos they received the chq late or u paying using Maybank2U & they updated late!...
I reluctant to pay the "Ah Long interest" for mths & the RM10 became RM60 after 6mths bcos charging late charges upon late charges...After numerous..screwing, They reluctantly waived all the 6 nth late pyt charges!...Nowadays after so many complain on the "Ah Long interest" they no longer charge RM10 dy although u're few days late..
