Boleh tu... Just to ensure the connection is correct, e.g red connect to red, blue to blue. The separate cable for component is to transfer the RGB signal idividually to the TV. Of course a better quality component will ensure no signal lost during the analogue signal transfer.

may I know what display device (TV) you used.  I'm using Panasonic Plasma TV and component out still have problem.

Depends on TV card. Those which support "Macrovision" will deny recording. The following works for me:

B.yond -(Composite)-> VCR -(RF)-> TV tuner/video capture card.

VCC is my old four year old FlyDVB-T Duo. Although to be fair got strange low-to-high pitch emitting in audio track of video randomly. I suspect it's due to interference from RF, my VCR is set to transmit at UHF channel 49.

At least, no problem recording some new Tama & Friends spinoff from Astro Ceria for a friend in the US.

The only solution to your problem as I see it is to try to locate a "Macrovision remover". Good luck, it's kinda hard to find and may be expensive, and I dunno it's legal status in Malaysia.

No, Macrovision is an older kind of copy protection that's used for Analog. Normally only use on NTSC signals in US. It's actual name is Analog Protection System or Copyguard. Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_Protection_System

As for TV card that does not support Macrovision, well, very much older cards. Like from 5-10 years ago (i.e. I know my PowerMacintosh G3's card apparently doesn't support Macrovision, but the pulses on the picture will be somewhat visible). My Lifeview I'm not really sure why it works.

Have you also tried using different program to capture, say Virtualdub or anything else? Also, maybe only certain channels copy protected? I so far only try recording Astro Ceria because of a friend from the US who's crazy about Tama and Friends.

Also, dun need to return. All you need to do is figure out how to built a macrovision remover or where to buy. I cannot talk about that since I'm not sure of the legal status, but can say: Google Is Your Friend.

I did recorded some movies via HDMI & Composite in the 2nd day after my  byond installed, both still looks good (SD quality lah), simply this rosak component out don't work. Astro Technician came also useless, he can't locate the problem and yet I found that he didn't submit my complaints back to astro office after I called Astro CS again last saturday.

No con, i got that mid last year, they only call chinese customers for that deal.

yes, they only charge you RM25, instead of usual 54.95.

but when u cancel after 2months, you pay RM10 for cancellation fee.

and of course you want to finish that drama before cancellation, so the days and weeks after the 2months is pro-rated using the full rate. so they dont actually loose out a lot.

AXN HD is more great. CSI, supernatural, Numb3rs, terminator, chuck all in glory HD.

BTW today is my 28 days of waiting. Installer just give me a dish only. Dunno when he wanna come to install.
