thanx guys..now i know.already set my remote to control tv volume.yg lawaknya smlm time diorang install aku ckp kt diorg klau dh guna kabel x payah sumbat komposit audio tp diorg kata kene sumbat juga klau tak nnti xde sora hehe
*
maybe the installer does not know that HDMI also carried audio signal... not just video signal.... tongue.gif
same like my installer, but different cases, he said that if I want to watch SD channels in stretching mode, I need to switch my TV to Av input... and he said that HDMI only can view SD channels in Pillarbox mode... he does not know that they're some setiing ins byond that can automatically stretching SD channels to fill the screen... biggrin.gif

Boleh tu... Just to ensure the connection is correct, e.g red connect to red, blue to blue. The separate cable for component is to transfer the RGB signal idividually to the TV. Of course a better quality component will ensure no signal lost during the analogue signal transfer.
*
better buy the monster cable la for analogue signal.... tongue.gif
less signal loss... whistling.gif

Depends on TV card. Those which support "Macrovision" will deny recording. The following works for me:

B.yond -(Composite)-> VCR -(RF)-> TV tuner/video capture card.

VCC is my old four year old FlyDVB-T Duo. Although to be fair got strange low-to-high pitch emitting in audio track of video randomly. I suspect it's due to interference from RF, my VCR is set to transmit at UHF channel 49.

At least, no problem recording some new Tama & Friends spinoff from Astro Ceria for a friend in the US.

The only solution to your problem as I see it is to try to locate a "Macrovision remover". Good luck, it's kinda hard to find and may be expensive, and I dunno it's legal status in Malaysia.
*
so you mean, my TV Card does not support HDCP.., isn't it?
and what is macrovision.. and what type of tv card that does not supoort Macrovision...
I really confuesd now and tomorrow I will ask the shop where I can change to other tv card....

Wah! Composite output can have copy protection? I thought it only applies to HDMI.
*
yes, they're...
it has happened to me just now...
Really dissapointed now... yawn.gif
it's just wasting my rm130 bucks to bought that tv card...

Added on January 13, 2010, 5:42 pmIt's that component output can slove my problems here??

But if you try it with the composite output of the old Astro decoder, how?
*
yes... I have tried with my old Max decoder...
everything was just fine....

No, Macrovision is an older kind of copy protection that's used for Analog. Normally only use on NTSC signals in US. It's actual name is Analog Protection System or Copyguard. Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_Protection_System

Normally not used outside US. Guess things changed sad.gif

As for TV card that does not support Macrovision, well, very much older cards. Like from 5-10 years ago (i.e. I know my PowerMacintosh G3's card apparently doesn't support Macrovision, but the pulses on the picture will be somewhat visible). My Lifeview I'm not really sure why it works.

Have you also tried using different program to capture, say Virtualdub or anything else? Also, maybe only certain channels copy protected? I so far only try recording Astro Ceria because of a friend from the US who's crazy about Tama and Friends.

Also, dun need to return. All you need to do is figure out how to built a macrovision remover or where to buy. I cannot talk about that since I'm not sure of the legal status, but can say: Google Is Your Friend.

Good Luck!
*
yes.. I have tried with other software.., only Corel Video Studio can support that Macrovision I think...
maybe I sill just use Corel Video studio to record my tv programmes...
Just Corel video studio cannot set the timer to record...

I did recorded some movies via HDMI & Composite in the 2nd day after my  byond installed, both still looks good (SD quality lah), simply this rosak component out don't work. Astro Technician came also useless, he can't locate the problem and yet I found that he didn't submit my complaints back to astro office after I called Astro CS again last saturday.
*
wah... you can record from composite? which tv card that you're currently used to record it?
or maybe my tv card that got problems...??? shakehead.gif

Edit: NVM, virtualdub no timer support also... Hmmm... Mediaportal can?

hi, wanna inform u that my problem already solved...
actually that's the wrong settings in my PVR software...
I have wrongly select the video system... actually it's PAL (since Malaysia used PAL system).., but my PVR software keep set it to NTSC (US system)...
but now already solved after download the latest driver and software from Leadtek website... biggrin.gif

But for recording via Cyberlink PowerDirecyor it is still imposibble... sad.gif
but I have satisfied with that bundled PVR software...

No con, i got that mid last year, they only call chinese customers for that deal.

yes, they only charge you RM25, instead of usual 54.95.

but when u cancel after 2months, you pay RM10 for cancellation fee.

and of course you want to finish that drama before cancellation, so the days and weeks after the 2months is pro-rated using the full rate. so they dont actually loose out a lot.
*
They also called me to subscribe to AOD Dragon Pack for just half price, RM25.95 for 2 months....eventhough i'm Malay... tongue.gif
I subscribe to it since I like to watch TVB Dramas... if i'm not mistaken, they called me around September last year... and I'm subscribe until November..
managed to catch Beyond the realm of conscience and Born Rich at the same time as HK... biggrin.gif
