Even if Iphone 4 come out, can the users of the iDiGi plan get a free upgrade to iPhone 4 without any amount of cash needed?
I doubt this~

You mean service discontinued by DiGi? I am not surprised. Malaysians don't know how to appreciate free service. Always complaint get charged but actually it was due to their own mistake, by accessing pictures etc.

Hi,

I think this is a common problem for some, but just want to see if there's any solution to it. And sorry I don't have time to go through all pages in this thread yet.

1) I'm using iPhone 3GS bought in Australia Unlocked. I'm using DiGi postpaid plan without 3G.
2) My iPhone EDGE/GPRS was disabled through iPhone settings and my charges for EDGE/GPRS has been RM0 before 14/06/10.
3) On the 14/06/10, I received a "Sim card updated settings" (sort of) message on my iPhone but I don't know what is it about.
3) After 14/06/10, the EDGE/GPRS keep running and I was charged a lot because of some background programs running.
4) I only realized it on the 20/06/10, immediately I called DiGi and disable my EDGE/GPRS.
5) I went to ask for a refund. They put my case to the billing department and an investigation was carried out.
6) They called me 03/07/10 saying they can't refund me because its iPhone's problem. They said usually for all other phones, user have to call up DiGi to activate MMS/GPRS/EDGE before they can use it. But for iPhone, it was done automatically. So its users fault for not knowing and not DiGi's problem.
7) My argument is DiGi must inform client when they will send an update to our iPhone and start charging us on stuff that we do not intend to use.
8) The customer service rep was polite and I know she can't do anything. So I request to talk to her manager. She said she will tell me manager to call me sometime next week.

Anybody encountered this problem and get a refund before?

Anyone got a high level contact in DiGi that can help me out?

Sorry to say that there will be no refund for this issue. There are thousands of iphone users asking & disputing for refund & if DiGi want to refund for everyone, they have to "tutup kedai".

Refund - no way

Not to get charged anymore : 2 ways
1) Ask DiGi to off the service from their side. It will affect MMS too.
2) You need to upgrade your iphone OS to iOS4. Only iOS4 has the setting to off internet access.

As for the number (3), it is sent by system. Majority phones with internet/mms will receive it & DiGi cannot choose who to send & who not to send. You should have declined the setting installation. BTW, did u receive it when you connect to iTunes? I didn't know iPhone got OTA setting.

The only reason the agent sent your case to Billing is because :
1) He/ She is afraid of you (if you have been irate) & have no choice but to pass it & escape
2) He/ She is new.

By right, they should close the case upfront especially for iphone. Even speaking to the manager @ team lead (or even CEO) will not help for this issue.

If there are thousand of iphone user asking for this that means its legit. Its a real problem face by users. And no they won't 'tutup kedai' because after all we are only asking to take off the EDGE/GPRS charges that we did not intend to use.

May I know whats your position in DiGi?

Why DiGi did not inform us about it? If I didn't find out myself, they would have keep charging me until I 'tutup kedai'. How is that fair for a customer? The same customer that put money in your boss pocket that pays your salary to feed your baby?

I know you work for your company and if they say no means you can't do anything about it. But I guess that is fine because its not you that was being charged unfairly. However can you please give me some valid reasons as of why I can't get a refund back?

'Tutup kedai' and 'No way' doesn't sound like a reason.

I might not know a certain things or how your company work. So if you can enlighten me maybe I will drop this and won't ask for a refund.

And please. Company policy is not a valid reason. I don't work for DiGi. I'm the customer. Remember.

Digi has a responsibility towards its customer and its product. Apple isn't in its product. You tellin me Digi has to answer to every problem caused by every phones under the sun. So what about those receiving scam SMS alert and get deducted RM3 for each SMS? Does Digi refund those too?
Be a responsible user too. Don't simply give the excuse "I didn't know". If you feel that you've been cheated because your phone automatically allow data transfer....then go ask for refund from Apple. They're the ones selling the smartphone to you.

i'd like to know more about the DG150 plan. if my usage is RM150, it says that i will get free calls digi to dig worth RM300i. does that mean i get to use "RM300" to call digi numberswhen my bill reaches RM150? cause right now i'm using maxis. calling my gf alot. bill is sky high. looking for a cheaper alternative. she uses both maxis and digi.

The reason I feel its not apple's fault because all these while, before the 14/06/10, my phone is running fine. No GPRS/EDGE charges because I switched it off.

The fact that its the simcard that sent me the settings to activate EDGE/GPRS made me think that DiGi is responsible. I don't think its the phone that make those changes.

If DiGi is responsible towards its customer, why didn't they inform the thousands of customer who are having the same issue. After I called them then only they say "uhh, the new way to deactivate it is to update to OS4.0, sorry" (don't get me wrong OCS were quite helpful, except for 1).

Why are you saying that i'm irresponsible? I found out they are charging me, I disabled it, I went thru the correct channel, I asked what are the problems and causes, I made some changes, I made a judgement. Its not like I say 'I donno I don't care, DiGi you refund me'.

I'm quite happy as a DiGi customer btw. If you can't help me then don't reply my post. Don't need to start a debate because of this, well not really debates isn't it when people are so one sided. I have only received pro-DiGi comments from its fan boy/girl and none of you have properly challenged my reasoning so far.

Yes, but in that case. You better switch to DG50 and make your GF's DiGi as your supplementary line. You can call, video call, SMS and MMS all you want for unlimited free. Only DiGi gives unlimited free unlike other telcos with limited hours.
So, every month's minimum charges for both of you will be only RM 80. biggrin.gif
In a way, you do not need to spend until RM 150 for the free calls. biggrin.gif

Using iPhone without an unlimited data package is pretty risky, bro. I'm sure there's some sort of settings on the phone to disable data, I'm pretty sure that there's an App for it. Just need to be careful when you are roaming.

Nope, not need to get her another line. Just convert her into your supplementary. She can use back the same number. smile.gif
You can choose to have postpaid supplementary, RM 30/month or;
prepaid supplementary, RM 15/month.

Can I ask something about the SMART Plan. Its 68/month for unlimited internet + BiS.

http://www.digi.com.my/internet/smartplan/smartplan.html

On the right it says if use until RM199, 25% off. If RM200 or more, 100% off.

Meaning if I didn't use untill RM200 still have to pay for internet usage?
