I think you should post it in the Pioneer Forum. Can get more response there. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1215885Should be able to handle Bluray player since the specs mention DTS/DD HD and HDMI repeaters. Anyway, I think its overpowered for a small room, but you can always listen at lower volumes, furthermore, no need to upgrade for a while. Regarding the price, I think its pretty much Pioneer standard. This post has been edited by azbro: Dec 31 2009, 09:07 AM

I think you need to check the impedance of your Logitech satelite(I suspect will be of low impedance) and confirm that the AVR you intend to buy was capable to handle low impedance speakers.

IMHO, nothing is ever overpowered... just because the speakers are large, it doesn't mean you have to pump the volume up to enjoy it's sound. I've seen enthusiasts with speakers that are 6 foot high and valve amps playing music in a room (12ft x 8') and it's still fantastic. Get a nice chair, put in in the middle of the room and sit back and enjoy.

QUOTE(Intrigue @ Jan 8 2010, 09:49 AM) the front and back satelite is 61Watt each and the centre is 69watt am i getting the correct info? driftmeister is correct. It's not about the wattage of the speaker but it's more about the impedance (ohms). AVR was designed to work within certain ohms range. Most modern AVR quote their power output either at 6Ω or 8Ω. Speakers itself was designed with certain ohms value also. Just like the package in your 1st post, the speaker was at 8Ω while the AVR itself was having rated output at 6Ω. If you attach a lower ohms speaker(satelite) to the AVR, it will draw more current from the AVR. I believe the Logitech satelites definitely have much lower impedance than that. Just like most of the HTiB actually have those satelite speakers with 3Ω in order for them to quote higher wattage output. It's actually not easy to find the actual ohms of the speaker used for PC speaker although I tried to google it. This post has been edited by willkso: Jan 8 2010, 03:31 PM

If i read correctly http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/hif...l-upgrades.html, the speaker should be 8ohm. So the AVR i find must support higher than it? 6ohm AVR should be able to drive it right?

So the AVR i find must support higher than it? 6ohm AVR should be able to drive it right? If it's confirmed rated at 8 ohms, then should be ok. AVR shouldn't have problem to drive your Logitech satelite speakers. By the way, I'm not sure how big is your room. Alternatively, you can actually buy the AVR and match with bookshelf sized speaker if you don't like the Pioneer speaker in the package. I believe the AVR in the package was Pioneer VSX-819H-K I do saw the retail outlet pair the AVR with others brand speaker(Rogers) at lower price. Not sure how's the performance as I didn't ask for a demo. Added on January 10, 2010, 2:27 amI might be wrong about AVR pairing with speakers from HTiB as I happen to read there's one forummer using speakers from Philip HTiB with his Pioneer AVR. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=30990939This post has been edited by willkso: Jan 10 2010, 02:27 AM
