OK.Thanks for the advice.
I think what I can do now is test bit by bit.
Either forward or backward method.
I just using C45.

The best way is I think, someone has mentioned it before, which is 'isolation' technique...

Test and jot down every little info regarding overclocking your Proc, Ram and also mobo...

Like me when I get a new rig (juz imagine everything I new) I will test CPU at stock voltage first see how far it can go before needing some juice in order to stabilize it...

Then I move on to Ram...the last result will be implemented together with the highest CPU speed achievable without needing vcore boost...

Last but not least, the mobo frequency (HTT,QPI,FSB) will be the last thing I would touch...because it is only helpful if you want to do fine tuning...for raw results, better play with multi...But if your proc isn't a BE or EE, then FSB tuning is the only way to OC....

Btw, me still 50/50 on R2E and UD7 sad.gif

i am newbie in overlocking
my phenom 955 running at stock speed, max core temp through prime 95 blend test is 59c, while i hv lower the voltage to 1.325

when i oc to 3.6 GHz, the max temp is 62, voltage 1.35

is it ok for the full load temp ? i am using hyper tx3

A bit high on the side but nothing serious...

Are you using single fan or dual configuration...if single I suggest you use dual config...

try to lower around 1.3v starting from 3.2 and go up till you fail, small FFTs prime....

dual fan
ya, i start from 3.2 and it failed the blend test when up to 3.8GHz with cpu voltage 1.375v
the idle core temperature is about 38-40c at stock speed, but it go up fast to 57c running the blend test
i heard that the max temp for phenom 955 is 62c, is it unsafe when i oc to 3.6GHz bcoz the full load temp is same with that limit ?

Blend?? Who said anything about Blend test? I metioned the Small FFTs not Blend test...

Max temp on the white paper is 62c....so try to get max temp around 58c if you can...

Not to say unsafe, but not advisable if you love your proc...

Not to say also that it will burn, only, things could sometimes happen..

Here a high temp run..I MADE before...using Asus M4A78E...

Itulah still waiting for biopening, btw i notice from gaygaybyte spec it mention hybrid CFX, could it be something like Nvidia hybrid thingy?
If it really is then would save a lot of watt coz able to switch from internal to discret gpu drool.gif

hmmm.... i believe both are d same for oc term, i'll choose d one w/ better distro service + look. r2e has better layout but pwm heatsink is abit overdone (ala ah beng style) while gayga looks more simple while havin less pleasant layout (pci-e x16 ports are abit crowed there). if it's free, am happy to use either one, but if i were to fork out my own hard earned $$$, i'll choose biostar gigabyte in sgp... tongue.gif

energy savin is always a welcome feature... go green... smile.gif

not so sure whether sb850 really got no acc support, so far only asus 890gx got core unlockin function which implemented usin an onboard switch... hmm... this is worryin... hmm.gif

AMD officialy banned Core unlocking on 890 chipsets!
