Hi, just recently on around december 2010 i have registered for acca 2011 jan intake. I have already pay up the application and the registration fee, and i was given a acca qualification initial registration form(IR). The TES department of Sunway college says that i can hand up the IR form after my classes begin, but the form states that the inititial registration closing dates is 31 december. So,i would just like to confirm if i'm still able to hand up this form and register for the acca qualification of the 1st intake??? which the exam session is in june stated in the form.
*
Hi there. Would you be able to provide your email or contact number so that we can check with the Sunway TES department?

I have a few questions regarding the A-Levels programme (: (i'm going for the march intake)

1. The SPM results aren't out yet, so can i use my trial results instead of forecast results? The thing is, we only can choose between 2 options in the application form - Actual OR Forecast results only, but is trials okay?

2. Is it okay if I send both my residence form and my college application form together to the Admissions & Counseling unit? Can I also include all registration/application fees in ONE cheque? (RM 1100 in total)

3. Subject enrolment will only take place during orientation, right? So does that mean I'll only have to pay my subject fees on the orientation day?

4. After receiving my application, the college will confirm with me through mail or email? Just in case, because i might be going abroad biggrin.gif

Thanks!
*
Hi there.
1. You can use your trial result or forecast result to apply.
2. You can send both forms to Admissions and Counselling Unit and RM1100 in one cheque
3. You will be paying for your first semester fee when you start on 21 March.
4. We will be couriering the offer letter to you.

Hey,

I require some advice. I've already signed up in your MUFY programme and I will continue my studies in Monash U after completing this programme in the field of information technology (either a degree in Comp Science or IT/Systems). So, my question is, what subjects do I have to take as I understand, the required compulsory subjects to continue into this field is Mathematics, English and Computer Science. However, for my fourth subject, can I take Economics or Globalisation (since both of these subjects is not related to the computing field).

Thanks in advance.
*
Hi there. The only pre-requisite to take Computer Science or IT is English and Maths. Therefore, you can choose Economics or Globalisation as your 4th subject.

Hi there. You can try to put in an appeal to Sunway University in PJ. However, you will need to submit an application and put in the minimum RM300 application fee. Bear in mind that if you put in an appeal and you do not manage to get the scholarship, the RM300 application fee is not refundable.

hey i think the bsc accounting graduates have 8 paper exemptions from ACA from ICAEW. how many papers are there in ICAEW in total and how long does it take to complete them after bsc in accounting and finance??
*
Hi there. There are total of 15 papers in ICAEW. IF a student completes the Sunway University BSc Accounting and Finance, they will be given 8 papers exemptions under ICAEW. However, once a student intends to take ICAEW upon completing the degree, it is on a selection basis by the authorised training employers.

Hi there. Yes, you will have 7 papers remaining and ICAEW is ACA. You will be completing the 7 papers when you are selected to go for the 3 - 4 years of training contract with the selected authorised training employers. Once you have completed your ICAEW, you will be able to apply a job anywhere.

I think yasir might be concerned with two things:

(i) Is there a compulsory, as well as guaranteed, internship placement at one of the big4, or any other firms. Does this apply to International Students too, and are there any special requirements/limitations? When is this internship, during penultimate year or after completion of degree?

(ii) As per your replied statement quoted above, does that mean there will be placement assistance provided to International students for applying to the big 4 based in M'sia?
*
Hi there.
(i) Internship placement for international students will be quite limited to certain firms or companies only. This internship is performed during the end of the 2nd year for 3 months.
(ii) I am sorry for misunderstanding but I am not aware that yasir is an international student. The placement for International students for applying to big 4 firms are quite slim of a chance.

Thank you the clarification.

Yasir was also concerned with another question.

He mentioned that he obtained information from Sunway staff (I'm not sure if it's through email, through this thread, or through face to face contact) that he, being an international student, is eligible for entrance scholarship, i.e. the Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship. Thus, with an A-level result of BBB, he will be getting a 25% waiver on tuition fees, and if AAB is obtained, he will be getting a 50% waiver.

However, the official website of Sunway University says otherwise:"Entrance scholarships are available to Malaysians only." Link: http://sunway.edu.my/scholarships/internal/tsjc-entrance

Can you confirm which is accurate?
*
Hi there. We do offer Entrance Scholarship to International Students who obtained qualifications that is recognised by our committee. If the qualification is recognised, we will honour the scholarship

Normally, we will recommend students to take an internationally recognised pre-university programme, such as A Level, Australian Matriculation and Canadian Matriculation. And they have Maths subjects in it. How is your SPM forecast result?
