Just notice that you are now with a new subwoofer.. congrat on the new subM..
Also notice there is more Canton user around as well....
For your nice woofer, what interconnect do you use? Curious on what nice to match the overall sound character of Canton.
Also, are you using the standard jumper that came along with your Chronos (the nice looking metal spade) or you upgraded/change to something else? Curious if my Chronos 509 will benefit if I look into changing the jumper.
Finally envy your big Subwoofer.. those of us who have neighbours downstair, upstair, left and right cannot get such a big one or else Management sent warning letter.... Ended up with MiniMe, Earthquake style cube for the Boom...

i just need louder for bass subwoofer only
front speaker enough loud most 75db above
do u sure most cinema how many dB ??? 75dB or 100dB ??? tell me
*
Me also not sure how loud cinema is.... Do you go watch movie on weekend? Maybe next movie weekend you go into cinema with SPL meter and measure....
But do not go see love story.. mostly no Bass.. need go watch action movie.. think have Bass... Or Prince of Persia maybe got Bass....

By the way, if Front Speaker not as loud as Subwoofer, then how to hear as no balance.. hear boom boom pow only? then might as well buy all subwoofer as no need front speaker as no hear also as enough loud only... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

i dont have SPL Meter  sad.gif
i need front speaker just 75db or above but i need bass very louder for subwoofer too
i know last time i go cinema movie i see music also have songs to much bass but very great i dont know how many dB i dont have SPL if i buy SPL i can test but they will light off so cannot see dB  sad.gif  so waste to buy SPL hehe
*
Oh, then also bring in small torchlight to read the SPL meter... remember when buy the SPL meter to also buy small torchlight. I think some Handphone also got light, so can use to read also.. but remember put Handphone on vibrate mode when watch movie...
Maybe you can buy many many subwoofer.. as many many add together sure lots lots of Bass... if still not enough just add more...
Like in cinema, small cinema you see lesser speaker hanging on wall.. those big one... many many speaker one...
As you no need Front Speaker loud.. then but only 1 set.. but buy many many subwoofer...... biggrin.gif

*
Yeah.. front speaker left and right need.. maybe get one more put in middle also can...
Me go to small cinema can see speaker one.. maybe big cinema they got budget to hide speaker rclxms.gif
Yeah.. you go big cinema.. hidden speaker.. must be expensive cinema.. sure great for Bass....
If you don't buy SPL Meter how to measure? to know need to measure.. so need to spent money and buy...

Or, like I suggested earlier.. buy one subwoofer first.. test and add until enough bass.. if up to 100 subwoofer also no Bass.. then rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

1 sub 2db = 100 sub 200db... hope my matematik correct...... (assumption of 1 sub output 2db)

If 1 sub 20db.. then 10 Sub enough... think my matematik correct, if wrong then do inform me biggrin.gif

db don't add up like mathematics. If you co locate similar sub, normally the gain is max 6db. Every 3 db need to double the wattage.

If you want to calculate theoretical SPL you can achieve, look at your speaker sensitivity,  goto below website and plug in the number.

http://myhometheater.homestead.com/splcalculator.html

Note that this only show you max SPL your speaker can achieve. Some speaker/sub start to distort when exceed certain wattage.

Oh, was thinking too peasantly, hoping to "help" our friend.... was also bored in the office....

Look like our friend would find it hard to achieve his "dream SPL"

I seldom let my 3 y.o. son to go into my HT room. He normally plays with his toys in master room. Only when he want to watch cartoon movies, he will go into HT room.
*
In my situation, can be said ... worse.... I am using KEF3005SE and the Subwoofer HTB2SE have both the driver and passive driver expose.. KEF do not make cover/grill for it.... Lifestyle thingy .. supposed to be seen.....
Imagine the placement issue.. if put in the middle of the room standing up with both driver expose.. very nice to look at... but any mishap.. then that the end of one lifestyle subwoofer.....

Velodyne CHT-12Q or Earthquake MiniMe P10 is better if they are around the same price?
*
Velo is a ported woofer with bigger driver while MiniMe have smaller driver on a seal woofer running off passive radiator...

The thing I like about Velo is it have its own remote control but with the MiniMe with grill off look so nice with 2 driver at each side.. look cool....

Anyway, do listen to both before deciding, I listen to Velo 12" and MIniMe 12" and both do sound different.... but 12" MiniMe more expensive....

Christmas Coming, thinking of buying present for myself..
Looking to upgrade Subwoofer Cable... ah..
Should I go for those OFC Copper type or those Silver-plated/Silver-Claded OFC Copper type?
Using for a sealed Sub... therefore ... anyway, Christmas Present syndrome...

I'm using stock cord. I've tried a Supra power cord on the sub, couldn't hear any difference.

I plug the sub direct to wall socket.
*
Firstly I change the RCA interconnect - sound improvement.. a bit ..
Then I change the Powercord - sound improvement .. a bit also...
then lastly I change the sub internal fuse (Mine have one) .. sound improvement .. ok this one really have major difference....
or maybe after changing and spending money my ears are playing trick on me..
by the way, the cheapest upgrade among all the above.. the fuse.....
