All in including sub (US$1,495) + shipping (US$180) + Black Oak finish (US$50) + debit card charge (US$25) = US$1,750.

HP version for 230V country not ready until 2011.

For US$1.5k, I get brand new cabinet and driver but pre owned 1000W amp. These are the perfectly working amps from people who upgraded/trade in to the new HP version. Mark will retest and give a 2 years warranty on these amp. This represent a US$400 reduction from new amp + US$50 reduction in black oak finish + US$150 reduction in freight = US$600 discount.

I believe u r not based in Malaysia, right? The shipping cost of USD180 is cheap if its all the way to Malaysia..

You're switch on! I'm a Msian based in Melb and I'm currently participating in a Group Buy where at present, 40 or more Submersive is on order!

Usually Submersive is more expensive than a PB13U but because of this GB, it is slightly cheaper.

ronnt88 - how's your submersive? Like I said, don't worry - I did not take away your exclusivity of having one in Msia.

I know you already built your own sub but for those interested, the purchase of new sub + pre-owned amp can be arranged. Not sure whether pricing and freight remained the same but no harm asking Mark.

Somehow, I am still very much a 'vented sub' guy. Been listening to dual sealed sub for movies, still doesn't suit my preference. For music and concert, there is no single doubt that the sealed sub is the way to go.

My earlier shorlisted gear was the PC12+, PB12+ and PB13U. Now you have time to auditioned SB series, for movie experience, does the SB12 comes close to PB/PC12+ as both the SB and PB/PC have similar price range?

Or what about SB13 vs PB/PC13U?

The PB / PC; vented sub is built primarily for movie and SPL in mind. The SB is for quality and not SPL drag race.

IMHO, the SB is good for small and medium room with 'authority' over >40Hz region while the PB/PC is for ULF and room filling bass.

Then again, both are of different characteristic. Some prefers sealed and some prefer vented sub  smile.gif

Btw, how much is Sub25 down under?
*
Thanks

Not sure how much is Sub25, google it but cannot find pricing. But RRP for DSP3400 is A$1.6k (on special A$1,199) and SUB12 - RRP$3.5k (special A$2.6k)

Latest update - shipment expected to be delayed to end Oct now due to supplier unable to provide Mark new HP amp fast enough for those who opt for the HP upgrade in US. This in turn delay the availability of the old amp for us.

That's unfortunate.

Mark's customer service is ridiculous. Sent him an email 3 weeks ago, and then re-sent it again twice and still no reply. He's not running a business. More like a hobby.

No more Submersive for me. Will take my $$$ else where.  vmad.gif

Call him, that's what I did and he's usually at his office until quite late, say until 7pm to 9 pm Chicago time. I had a chat with him before and he is a very nice person to talk to.

Bad news and good news about my Submersive order.

Bad news first, my Seaton Submersive 1kW amp ordered and paid in July will only arrive in February as part of the Group Buy (40+ Submersive & 12 Catayst 12C - active loudspeaker) heading for down under.

But I believe the good news is (at least for a non technical guy like me) was some improvement was made to to 1kW amp closer to the performance of the HP (2.4kW but only available in 120V market only) amp version as per Mark's post below. After waiting for so long, perhaps it is a blessing in disguise in getting the improvement! I can't wait!

Hi Guys,

I apologize for not getting another post up here earlier, but a few pesky auto and home issues kept me away from the computer all weekend.

I just posted a couple pictures taken last week to my forum.

Since we can't embed pics here, here are direct links to the two photos:
>50 speakers awaiting their voyage.

http://www.seaton-sound-forum.com/post?id=...#post1266478264

Another shot with me for some scale.

As you can see by the 5 visible pallets piled high with new SubMersive woofers (white boxes) and the 2 others you can't quite see, I want and need to get these out of here as soon as possible as space is getting rather tight! We're packing up the last of the SubMersives in the next few days, and working on coordinating details for the shipment. My expectation is for the container to land in Syndey before Feb 1st. As I get more concrete info I'll be sure to post it.

In case anyone was wondering, all of the subwoofers and speakers are already designated to each customer so we have correct records of who gets what. We have the labels on each box indicating the product, finish and how many total packages go to each customer, ie 1 of 1,2, 5 etc.

Hopefully we'll have a steadier stream of info to keep sharing.

As buddhamas mentioned, in the time waiting for the last of the upgraded amplifiers to come in from customers I did some further work with the limiting changes from the SubMersive HP's development which I previously mentioned are now implemented for the original 1kW SubMersive amplifier. With this addition I was able to do some work and testing with the "program 2", 15Hz response setting I've implemented in the 'HP. I can now confirm that all of the group buy SubMersives and those after will have the same options as the SubMersive HP, with PROG 1 yielding a +/3dB window extending to 19Hz outdoors (as it has from the start) as well as PROG 2 extending to 15Hz outdoors.

This brings the 1kW SubMersive as close as we can to the behavior and performance of the SubMersive HP we are shipping in the states (120V only).

More to come...

By far, the PB13-Ultra box is the biggest that I have seen. I think the SubM box should be bigger. Like buying a mini-fridge  laugh.gif
*
No lah, boss! PB13U is definitely bigger as its dimension are 27” D x 20-1/2 " W x 22-1/2" H while SubM are 24.25" W x 17.5" D x 25.5" H.

Kc.. Why so long wait? Just read about the specs from internet.. Us$2k for twin 15in sub is indeed a good price. Wonder why hasn't anyone brought them in?
*
Long story. Group Buy initiated in Apr 10, paid in full Jul 10, only received yesterday. Total 60 plus SubM ordered plus other speakers CATs.

http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=87588

Worth the wait? Damn worth it! Bloody hell!

I've to admit my SubM is only performing 70 - 80% of its capability due to my ageing equipment. My non HDMI receiver is receiving HD audio via multi channel analogue from my BD player. The player's Bass Management is very basic and because my receiver is using Multi Channel, it bypass the YPAO calibration system eventhough that is basic as well.

Next to change is my receiver but I love my SubMersive!

Common behaviour... shops will always praise products they carry and pooh-pooh competing products. You'll not hear them say "oh yeah that XXX is good also, same performance as what I'm selling but cheaper". smile.gif

jchong - off topic sikit. I saw from your signature you want to sell your Emotiva XPA3. Why, no good ah? I'm considering XPA5.

Bro, you better look elsewhere. Elite like you should consider buying better power amp. Upgrading is a waste of money. Btw, why do you want to buy a power amp? What is lacking?  smile.gif

Poison 'htkaki'

Elite? I wish! I saw a used XPA5 on ebay. Never consider power amp until I saw the ad. I thought Emotiva power amp very good and represent value for money?
