anyone here tested the velodyne impact 10? how's it?
i notice there are some subwoofers which their drivers are not floor-firing type aka front firing. is there are reason for that? any advantage or disadvantage?

Here's a reply from Emotiva regarding the price of it's latest subwoofer (with shipping to Malaysia).
QUOTE
I am pleased to quote the following:

Ultra Sub 12 $499.00
Freight $196.71 FedEx Economy
Total $695.71

I am unable to quote the Ultra Sub 10 at this time because it is not instock. We are expecting it to be in stock in 3 to 4 weeks.

Hi guys,

After doing some study, i found out that klipsh/synergy sub-12 kind of boleh tahan also (based on the specs)

Frequency response: 24 - 120 Hz +/- 3 dB
Power handling: FTC rated power: 300W continuous @ 1% THD , Dynamic power : 650W
Max acoustic: 117dB
Driver: 12" fiber composite cone - down firing
Amplifier: BASH digital hybrid

Anyone using this sub? Is it good?
What is the price?
*
sub-12 and sub-10 are not for sale anymore.
the replacement model is SW-450 and SW-350.

With such a high crossover due to satellites setup, you're left with loose, inaccurate bass. If it's too boomy, just try to reduce the crossover slowly and the gain too.

hi guys, can sifus point me to a shop/seller that able to ship subwoofer to Kuching East Malaysia?

my budget is RM800. I need those with RCA in and volume to be used with a pair of active monitors for music listening. No need too good, cos i just need the extra oomph.

Thanks!
*
i think RM800 can get the low-end yamaha subwoofer.

Thanks for the info...i am using B&W684 as front, Q acoustic as center & energy satelite as surround...i checky my amp can set up to 250hz...can i set that high? or it will causing causing speaker koyak if set too high?

Thanks alot notworthy.gif
*
setting crossover at high value such as 250Hz won't spoil your speakers.but why would you wanna do that? what's the frequency response for your center speaker? you might wanna match it with the subwoofer.

ronaldjoe,
This is close mic'ed response. The 2nd chart was at listening position. My room is 17 x 15 but opens up on the right to a 30 x 12 ft.
*
with those L shape room design where the living room is in one "leg" and the dining room in another "leg", we'll lose a lot of bass, right?

Different characteristic kenot compare like that. It's up to your personal preference on ported vs sealed..

I guess F15 fare better than PB12-NSD for music since it's a ported sub, maybe I'm wrong too.. smile.gif

It's like going for a round with mike tyson !!!
Yes, it is chest thumping and will bring out your lunch.
The 15 ins 400 watts rms is <2K.
Problem is to convince HM to have one in the hall. It certainly difficult to blend with decor.
*
15 incher <2k can create chest thumping? 18" even more syok?
which model of 18" V-218? V-18? S-18? LS-1200? JK 118? JK 218?
what's the price?
got delivery to other states too?

this is my living room layout which opens to the dining room.

[attachmentid=2248831]

base on the area size, what model of subwoofer is suitable, yet able to deliver the punch and rumble?
dear sifus please recommend.

my current 5.1 setup are all klipsch synergy series, consisting of C2 center, B3 fronts and S2 surround. sub is a puny SW450 (top line in synergy series sweat.gif )

How's the LFE now? Normally, in this kind of room, there is a 'suck out' of LFE to the dining room area.

Try to relocated your sub to the left of your living room. With about 2' from the front wall & about 1' from the left wall.

U can try velo ct 12" Got friend with similar living room & set up got LFE 'feeling'   smile.gif

For better LFE 'feeling' get the DSP 3400 for sure ur living room plaster will get loosen!  biggrin.gif

Not enough LFE? Then get two DSP 3400  rclxms.gif

He! He! If ur a a BASS NUt Get the Sub 25 or Sub 2 thumbup.gif

My current dream Sub!  wub.gif
*
I reposition my sub to the left corner. Bass sounds more punch than before. Watched cloverfield again and the thump sure sounds deeper and better....chest thumping when the monster walks around.
Thanks to all. I did the sub crawl method long time ago but my ears can't find the difference while crawling. Haha.
