QUOTE(dlyz @ Jul 1 2010, 03:20 PM) Yeah, i just read horny's review, he didnt mention much about music performance. He! He! I am not a very 'musical' fellow, mostly I listen to bass music like Linking Park, Bass Hunter, Bass Mackenik etc ie I am a Bass nut.......... I need to go audit them. Now i wondering the sb12-nsd how compared to those 2 subs. Is it still the pre-order period? I do agree that a sealed sub is good for music as my latest sub 'collection' is Velo spl 1200 good for music with tight bass but for movie it sort of lack the 'chest hitting' bass effect. So to get the best of both I set up a 7.2 system with the combination of both sealed & ported sub. |

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jul 6 2010, 09:06 AM) I doubt the Paradigm can outclass the PC12-Plus. PC12-Plus sounds cleaner than the much talked about Velo SPL1200-Ultra. It has tighter bass and digs deep with good control. Aiyoh! I live in a very rural part of Sarawak, going to Miri will take me the whole day by bus. I can't remember the exact Paradigm sub model that a customer have. But, his new PB12-Plus just blew it away. Hornyangmoh has a unit of this Paradigm. Why not you guys do a shootout since he is in Miri (IIRC) Beside carrying a bulky 30kg DSP3400 is a back breaking sexperiance. |

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Jul 6 2010, 02:31 PM) In fact my friend have a DSP3400 in his home as the dealer is trying to convince him to buy it so he left it with him. My friend haven't confirm the purchase as he wanted to compare to my PC12+. Wow! I look forward to your FR & shoot out between the DSP 3400 & SVS PC12+. He! He! See who wallop who in the sub bass test. I can't do the side by side test until next week end. Some suggestion:- U571 deep charge test ( Prefer HD sound but DTS/DD will do also ) Transformer 2 blu ray Terminator 4 For music Try out Bass Markenik & Crystal Method |

QUOTE(paskal @ Aug 27 2010, 10:27 AM) freq response graph for the DSP3400 are somewhat hard to get. tried searching highs and lows for it, but never found any. maybe i'm just bad at using google. Yes! It is hard to get a PB12NSD vs DSP 3400. However here is a PC12NSD vs DSP3400. I believed PC12NSD is similar to PB12NSD. the DSP3400 retails for USD899 in the US, similar price bracket as the PC12+ which are going for USD949. the PB12-NSD retails for USD599. at USD899, i might be calling it overpriced compared to the 16Hz PC12+. but at RM3.3k which is cheaper than even the PB12NSD, it's a bargain. after all, it was intended to compete with the PC12+, but over here we're pitting it against a lower price bracket PB12NSD. not the same owner. not even the same test environment. but i've listened to the DSP3400 at 3 different places. first at the shop's auditon room, second at my house, and third time at the owner's house. in all 3 instances it sounds better than the PB12NSD. kindda hard to get an owner to loan me his precious sub just to do a comparison right? the PB12NSD is in penang island, 2 hours drive from here. and after listening to the DSP3400 at 3 different places and coming the same conclusion each time, don't think i'll be buying a PB12NSD anywhere in the near future. Here is the 'review' http://hornyangmoh.blogspot.com/2009/09/12-vs-14.html Oh! Please don't shoot me............very poor peasant here. |
