Haha..

I guess u passed Economics 101 paper then.. keke smile.gif

Electrical/electronics are called consumables n is pretty well a liability n has no redeeming factor 'to make money'..
But then again its usually de 'rich' who can afford to 'throw' money away on consumables..

Its jus my opinion..

But where subs are concerned.. wif its bulk and wt, importin in is jus too darn troublesome .. not to mention de hassle, de kastam can cause [ I dont mean de tax, I mean askin for JBE cert = sakit kepala]
Back when there was like REL for really decent subs .. gettin in a SvS was wat ppl did n it was a hassle even then.. but now wif SvS n Rythmik represented here.. it would be a marginal increase in performance for a lot more hassle .. n I dont tink much of a savings either .. if any..
Granted u'd be gettin a bigger driver or a meaner amp wif ur 'other subs' but to me its just not worth de xtra effort.. YMMV thou'

For other electronic components is a diff topic la..
Certain projector models are a lot more exp here .. panny ae4k for instance but mitsis HC4k is not..
AVR's - especially de flagship models cost an arm and a leg here .. eg denons 43** - wat 15k here n at least half tat in a neigboring country

smile.gif  Brother Dirtrun the REL sub for music is pretty darn good but in movie REL is no match to RYTHMIK . My friend buy his DENON avr 4311 in singapore only rm 5500 . He is very lucky ,the ketam didn't tax him
*
Those days..

Want decent sub .. all go to REL.. all d rest are also rans..

Later when HT became more mainstream.. ported subs became popular n SvS [ n Hsu] filled de niche nicely wif their then affordable HT subs tat can trawl de depths effectively thou' its a trifle slow .. Then, as all gud things mus end.. SvS started to make their subs look nicer n raised their prices as well.. Other cos [rythmik is one] started filling in where SvS was in providing no frills but kick ass subs n d rest is history..

Sealed Rythmiks subs are no push over for music either.. sum use a stereo pair n is veri happy wif de result.. Best is theres ample change even if u do get 2 rythmiks than a tua gong REL

There u are.. I rest my case concerning flagship avrs - I mean pricing for em here in bolehland!

Yup, those days REL was one of the few specialist sub brands available locally. As I recall many of their subs are also ported. Were you saying that the REL subs are faster than some of the others like Hsu and SVS?
*
Hvnt really compared them side by side.. but those hifi shops swear by de REL name .. back then .. u mention SvS.. n they go 'dont waste ur money' .. initially la..

Brother dirtrun i know using two same rythmik subwoofer will have a very good result but i cannot afford buying two sub at the same time  smile.gif  .Will upgrade later after buying an avr with xt 32. The REL sub i bought long time ago.(no svs and rythmik in malaysia at that time ). Desa home theater selling the denon avr 4311 rm 8+++.
*
Haha..

I understand .. poor peasants like me oso start wif one ..
When I got my pb12+ .. there was only REL in most Hifi shops. n even thou' its not cheap [by my standards], it was way cheaper than wat de B&M shops wanted for a REL shocking.gif ..
I even went a step more to save $ .. joined a SGp forum MO.. wif sum % in shpng..

Got warranty, but got to bring it down south again.
It's good for frequent traveller.
*

Sori..

Wat I meant was 'convenient' support..
Actually even if it was Malaysian support, its still a bloody hassle to unhook everytin jus to get it back up again ltr.. Id veri much prefer a durable hook-set-n-forget avr n since its a flagship model, it shld give us jus tat..

i read that Rythmik uses Servo technology. it sounds impressive on paper. how does it compare for  LV12R vs Pb-1000 ?

If for HT,

Id tink de ported SvS shld be better.. if u are half n half, a sealed rythmik is no slouch..

sifu sifu sekalian....

i currently have a SVS SB2000 sub...and plan to get another one...however I saw a used Rythmik F12 on sale...pretty good condition

now...under normal circumstances...it would be recommended to have the same sub
but in this case....obviously wanting to go cheapo...

how bad can it be if i mix both brands together for movie and music?
*
Lol,

Its up to u.. unfortunately, u can't try it first before deciding as tat would be the ideal situation..
FWIW, I run a sealed Rythmik F15 n a ported SvS Pb12+ [major no-no.. ya...] n believe me its sublime.. at least for me in a HT situation - not much of a music man xcept for a bd concert or 2 [ o BTW de Ed Sheeran one is fabulous.. ]

Planning to buy a used PSB Subseries 300 for quite a reasonable price. It's a 12" ported downfiring sub.

Anyone have experience with this sub before? Is it worth buying at RM2k?
*
For 2k..

I'd consider sumtin else ..
A used SvS or Rythmik would cost close to tis..
Problem is waiting..

Haven't seen any used SVS in the past month. Rythmik got but low end model selling above RM3k. Do you have experience with the PSB sub?
*

No,

But they make decent spkrs..
BTW the lowest end [previously] Rythmik F12 is a darn good sub n does all its written up to do.. l guess its not cheap - for a reason..
