D, he needs to stretch his budget by quite a big gap considering the current RM599 as benchmark.

Now I'm using 2nd hand sub (kenwood sw305 8" sub) which rattles a when watching movies with lot of bass.

Added on November 20, 2011, 10:54 pmOr maybe you guys can help me by suggesting a 2nd hand unit with readonable price. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is it FV12? Please PM me once it's available locally as I need to replace my failing subs.

Yes, it is FV12 but with some mods to cater for the Asia market. We hope to have this budget sub at really affordable and hard to resist price.

Hi there, Im no expert in home theatre system. My boss gave me a set of Robertson speaker system (5.1) which consists of following:

Robertson 3-way sub-woofer speaker system (front, L-R)
Norminal: 8 OHMS, 200w

Robertson 2-way home theatre speaker system (rear, L-R)
Norminal: 8 OHMS, 80w

Robertson 2-way home theatre speaker system (center)
Norminal: 8 OHMS, 100w

This set is of no use to me and Im going to sell off all of them. Anyone knows how much roughly I can sell?

Thanks.

Ooh... it's getting exciting... rclxm9.gif Do we expect the new product out in the local market this year? Seriously, I hope the mods are not cutting 'corners' to lower the price hmm.gif .

Ain't that cutting corners kind of mod. More on ways to improve efficiency and productivity rate.

Not this year but we hope that we can get it in the market in 1Q 2012

LPF off at the subwoofer side.
Let the avr do the bass management. It will send signals for the LFE from 120Hz and below to the sub.

Meaning to say that once we set the crossover frequency at the receiver, we must turn off the crossover at the sub (set it to the highest freq)?

hi guys~~

anyone facing pop sound from their sub when watching BR ripped DVDs in 5.1 DTS audio mode??

i had my sherwood amp controlling the x-over at 80hz... then my sub frequency turn to 150hz max to allow full control by amp. Sub volume is at half.

Also, there's this "Phase" option either Normal or Reverb i guess. Currently im on reverb. What's the difference between these?

btw, my sub is Rogers 10' RS-108 model.

is it because of the disc?? or its my configuration prob??

any advise is highly appreciated~ notworthy.gif

The phase switch is either Normal or Reverse 180 deg.
If you place the sub in front, in line with the main speakers, generally, most will set it to Normal.

As for the pop sound, is it the sub bottoming out at high volumes?
Try and listen at a lower volume and see if the problem recurs at the same point in the movie.
If it is consistently at the same point, even at a reduced volume, then it must be the file.

Also make sure all the connections are tight, including the power plug connector.
