yes, agoda is trusted site for hotel booking.

they charge in usd, perhaps their payment gateway based in US?

but agoda may not be the cheapest at all time, you have to use asiaroom, booking.com and many more, also do check on the hotel official sites, which they may have their own promo that can be cheaper than travel agency.

the thing is..my aunt wants to use her account...to earn points
want to ask is....if its registered under her name since use her account
when go to the hotel check in...will there be any problem?
*
as long as you can input the name of the person who going to stay at the hotel.

coz hotel only acknowledge or allow guest to check-in as per booking stated guest name

Edit: usually got booker name, guest name who gonna stay there. unlke last time i book tune hotel, which booker also the guest

hmm....but there is no guest name
they register to the name of the account owner...1 name only
and mind asking..
why per night there saying RM440 and the tax is RM53.70(6 nights)
but the final price is RM27XX.XX???
not RM24XX.XX???
and thn i go searched asiaroom...also RM440 but final price RM26XX.XX??
ps: i checked booking.com...same as asiarooms..RM26XX.XX
*
meaning agoda not always the cheaper source.

always look at the final price, which is the grand total.

i used booking.com before, its trusted as well.

why..same site but different price if link from another site?

hotel tax from RM53.70 become 40.41
HAHAHAA....what a joke
*
have you complete the booking?
looks like, its true that not every system is perfect.
try clear your browser cache and search again, using 2 browser and 2 sites

hmmm...haizzz
but just now the website go to HKG server(the subdomain say HKG not NYC)
the payment page got through..same card no problem but that was way way more expensive
*
thats too bad... next time, use credit card
if u concern on the security, use those card that requires to input OTP which receive via sms.
then you can lower the risk of card fraud.

tips, you may book hotel via OTA if they are cheaper than hotel itself, then after received confirmation from OTA, you may call hotel to verify your booking, but wait at least 1 or 2 days after received confirmation, before calling hotel.

how many of you book agoda but end up unable to confirm room, but not being offer help or option for other hotel?

my colleague booked from www.my.pyotravel.com, his preferred hotel was unable to confirm but this OTA give other choices for him to choose, either same price or top up a bit for better hotel or better rooms.

so no matter how big or small an OTA, service is matter to us, coz we don't want to end up in somewhere without room to check-in.

even though the site has currency option, as long as the payment gateway is in usd, they will charge in usd. then exchange rate comes into play, usually bank's rate slightly higher.

if worry then buy from local OTA, this pyo travel is local co

Last time it was possible to select to pay in USD or RM (when the system detects your credit card is issued in Malaysia) but this option is no longer available now. It always automatically bills you in RM and the foreign exchange rate quoted by Agoda is always so high  shakehead.gif
No. That's not true. Not especially if you're using a Maybankard VISA or MasterCard.

oh but i'm using maybank card. so i notice the xchange rate slightly higher

that is because, system still need people to update the inventory. therefore, OTA will still display available, but hotel staff have not update in agoda system.

vice versa if allotment was given to agoda.
