cancellation and book now pay nothing are two different things. for cancellation, you need to check the cancellation policy whether its free cancellation, or there is a cancellation fee involved.

Any idea WHEN they charge your creditcard upon you making online booking of hotels?

All these while I have been using Booking.com & they only charge my creditcard ON THE DAY you check-in.

As for expedia.com.my, I was told that your creditcard will be charged IMMEDIATELY upon booking online. However if you choose to cancel under the "FREE Cancellation" policy, then they will refund you later.

Since I am booking hotel in Taiwan for Dec 2014, I feel not comfortable being charged the creditcard so early as I may change my mind later. Any comments appreciated.

Thanks.

This is what I get when I try to book the hotel. Does it mean a US$15 will be charge if I decided to cancel the booking even 2-months BEFORE the check-in date?

Haha. Somehow i booked before during my visit to Singapore back in this year's CNY.
My booking was made on weekends, but the actual transaction is only done during the weekdays.
Hence, i did not get my 5% cash back. Just the 7% discount, right after you key in your CC details.

agoda is good and convenient, price also cheaper than hotel rate.
stayed 1 nite at cophtorne hotel, cameron. since the room was nice and great view too, i asked the recept to extend another nite but the price offered was higher than on9. I immediately book another nite thru agoda and request the same room. laugh.gif

btw what credit card offer discount for agoda/on9 booking? can list all?
1. MAYBANK

hi all, wanna ask if u guys get charged USD 1 for booking local hotel with CC ( cimb)

1. previously i booked thailand hotel i got charged USD 1 ( i tot is international hotel so make sense la)
but today i booked local hotel, i got charged USD 1 as well. is this normal?

2. book now and pay later policy, how does it apply?

Book now USD 3.5 = USD 28.57 x 3.5 =RM100
pay later ( currency change) USD 3.6 = USD 28.57 x 3.6 = RM103 ???

or

dont care the currency.. state RM 100, u pay RM100 when the date come
