Agoda has very reliable services if you ask me. I have been using them for quite some time already, for local and overseas hotel. All bookings went thru with no issues at all.

agoda is very reliable.. but unfortunately sometimes the hotels themselves cannot be trusted especially those with few branch within the same area..

Just happened to me last week, booked with agoda at Asian Ruby 4, Ho chi Minh, go the to hotel for check-in, the hotel transfer us to their other branch Asian Ruby 1. they said they had problem with the rooms.. so mad, altthough they upgraded our rooms, the hotel quite far from the place we wanna go..

I suggest you actually email to Agoda of this problem so they will be more aware when other customers try to book that particular hotel. At least they are able to question their vendor. Without complaints from customers, they won't know also if the hotels try to do dodgy things.

anyone encounter problem when booking with agoda about guest number? booked a room in advanced for next year March but the site never has option for guest # field, after booking made the hotel voucher only stated 1 person. The room stated in the site is for max of 2 person with breakfast.

Have call agoda CS and the guy said has emailed the hotel to change and revert. Wonder if they change guest to 2 person will i be charged extra for breakfast fee

Agreed with you. Where the heck is the option to put no of guest? It won't be a problem when you booked room without breakfast but it will cause problem when you did book it with breakfast.

My 2nd time using them, I book with breakfast and when the vaucher came it only state 1 person (bah ... book family room just for a single guest!?) Anyway, what I do was I emel them regarding this matter and they have change my vaucher. But then, it will became a burden if everytime has to emel them for the same problem.

regarding agoda reward points, u will need a minimum of 12,500 points to use for your next reservation...and its valid for 2 years only. rolleyes.gif

i have 5k+ points (since 2011, 5 hotels booking) and its gonna expire soon...zzz

feel kinda pointless unless u r hardcore traveller (and often book via agoda) biggrin.gif

I probably book about 5-6 hotels a year for business trips, and as a small business owner I find http://www.hotelscombined.com saves me a lot of time mucking around to find a good hotel. Sometimes these trips are last minute so it's a real time saver searching the site and finding out which hotel website will give me the best price for where I want to stay at. I also find the site very easy to use, and has a lot of good options so I can easily filter the results down to what I'm looking for. Sometimes the images of the hotels aren't really clear, but other than that a highly recommended site.

Booked a hotel via agoda. Upon arrival to destination, the hotel is full and doesnt have a room for me, and offer an alternative hotel which is not up to my expectation.

Called agoda cust service and demanded a full refund!

Agoda is ok. Many people have used Agoda. Although i do agree you can't please everybody. Frankly i use agoda as well.

Just to share certain things to take note if you use agoda. Firstly they practice pre-paid, meaning they will charge your card instantly upon online reservation. So it's wise to check out the hotel policy carefully for any cancellation as well as amendment fee.

Sometimes they would email you back and ask verification of your card. It happen once to me & i though the reservation went thru. Reaching hotel no reservation found. Luckily after sorting out with their CS thing was sorted out.

If you are uncomfortable using Agoda try Booking.com or Asiarooms.com. Both of them does not practice prepaid, so you can pay at the hotel directly.

Cheers!

It may be the hotel's fault too. And Agoda is still displaying the room as available despite its full (called and checked with the hotel)

Funny..
