QUOTE(Brian O'Connor @ Dec 29 2010, 04:50 PM) IMHO the ending of season 1 already conclude the story. Ep 13.5 is just an alternate ending if Otonashi stayed at the afterworld to help the unrestless soul to 'move on'. Just finished watching the whole series. Somehoe ended up writing this mini-theory as a result! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Kanade got Yuzuru's heart. She got stuck because she could not say thank you. (how did she end up in the school BEFORE Yuzuru?) Yuzuru had already passed on to ........., because his life was fulfilled (no head trauma remember? why amnesia?) Yuzuru saw that Kanade had gotten stuck because of his heart. He somehow erases his own memory to go to that school. But there is a bug with the school program. People that enter the program this way only have a slim chance of getting back out. (like the angel player programmer?) So Yuzuru instinctively gets close to Kanade. his proximity to his heart restores his memories UP TO the point of his death. not his afterlife. He helps everyone more forward, he finds finally that he cannot move on because of the bug. Yuzuru hopes Kanade will help and stay, but she is already ready to move on. (This was pretty much the ULTIMATE reason he came to the school!) So now he is stuck, and there is she can do but WAIT for that slim chance that he gets out. Some unspecified time later, he succeeds, and together they move into their next life.

Only just now i realized Otonashi is voiced by the same guy that played Hiroomi Souma in Working, and Izaya in Durarara.
His voice does not vary much, but dang the characters so completely different.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 17 2011, 07:19 PM) he is the reason why i cannot get touched on the ending. him dying on the other hand though is actually pretty touching. I can understand the feeling. He was an evil SOB in the previous 2 roles. At least I watched the ending before realizing this, so the experience was not ruined. This post has been edited by Mudmaniac: Jan 17 2011, 08:03 PM

QUOTE(Brian O'Connor @ Jan 24 2011, 10:59 PM) in afterlife, time is not relevant. my pet theory is that » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Otonashi actually already crossed over. not yet reborn. which is why he had no memories. but Tachibana got stuck so he went back to help.
