In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers.
Planned to do this earlier but interrupted by maintainance. Not really a fan of Key (not sure why someone doesnt do it in when it was 1st announced). Neway, PA Works seem to be involved (they did Canaan n True Tears while involving with minor works of really good quality animation.) so u can guess the quality would be good.
Key is creator of Clannad, Air, Little Buster (including this one). mean they write/create story. just like NisiOisin (Katanagatari, Bakemonogatari) n Tanigawa Nagaru (Suzumiya Haruhi)
Kyo-ani is the one who did the animation, or pay sum/royalties to creator (though which sometime otherwise which a writer pay em to do the animation) like how they did on K-on (create/written by Kakifly), Suzumiya Haruhi (Tanigawa Nagaru) n also Clannad, Air (Key). Kyo-ani is like how Shaft did Bakemonogatari (NisiOisin) or Whitefox did Katanagatari (NisiOisin).
to put it better, remember the horrible Kanon anime by Toei Animation b4 its was remade better by Kyo-ani both are story are the same which is by Key.
i did ask him if he's expecting Key or Kyo-ani, since he got misunderstandin due to Kyo-ani involvement with quite a number of Key's work b4. n i didnt says this (angel beat) is by Kyo-ani.
i feel the similarity of this show with Haibane Renmei, just that the tenshi had to play bad guy (label as one by them) plus the famous Key "freakin sad past but despite of that, they are living nicely in present n too freaking nice n sobbing departure at the end due to some reason"
n also, i feel bad bout iwasawa's guitar, it 'dies' together with her, but she disappear with her clothes but without taking her guitar.
tenshi is sad for unable to prevent that from happening.
too bad for iwasawa, i'm starting to like her, but she's gone now.
if they done kill tenshi, then what?
heres my thought bout tenshi. god didnt gave tenshi power, but she develop herself. assumption would be she is the same with Yuri or perhaps u wan a twist, same with Yuri who used fight against previous tenshi, n lost her friend like how Iwasawa disappear, hence take the role of tenshi to prevent it from happen. "if that show is that predictable." tenshi is a just a good character who good enough to take this despicable role to prevent the worst, otherwise, i dunno.
Born to an American father and a Japanese mother. Hardly a gaijin. That's like lumping most East Malaysians into "lain-lain" just because they don't fit into "Western" prejudices.
At least his English is reasonably comprehensible. And it's not the first "gaijin" to be involved in anime production. Look closely at the credits of Nogizaka Haruka and FMP:TSR. Not to mention the numerous Korean/Chinese animators. And a new trend into Vietnam for the subcontraction.

I wonder how short Tenshi is. I like her hair. It reminds me of Ichinose Kotomi.
its called outsource. try watched older anime, its been like that for quite sometime. its cheaper n more resourceful to send it to Korea (mostly) n also Michael Arias play more important/impact on japanese anime industry than that voice actor.
few words. expected ending, since Key are shitty at that part. (no offense. i had been vulgarly scolding this shiet ever since my 1st experience with Key)

enough of the paradox of who arrive 1st aka emiya shirou VS archer paradox, either tenshi received otonashi's heart early but short lived with otonashi heart or the transplant work but doesnt last for long. or else she will be grandmother headmistress there.
another thing, lets say otonashi's heart is the only organ usable which he doesnt has one when appear there (maybe there are other part but arent visible physically), i pity those who die in horrible accident n lost their part in process.
bout tenshi n otonashi's heart, i prefer Summer Snow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer_snow better. since wiki doesnt tell much, basically girl with heart ailment, fall in love with a guy, guy met accident n die, she received his heart without knowing that guy died something like that (cant remember that well nemore)
