QUOTE(bukithot @ Sep 27 2013, 10:54 PM)
Bro, use YTLP cash to buy back shares --> then cancelled the treasury shares --> with same number of shares, after buyback and cancel, YTL holding in terms of % is much higher now. Higher % easier to takeover.

my little understanding is like that. correct me if i am wrong.

1400MW JOHOR PLANT: Talk is rife that YTL Power-led consortium will get project

THE Energy Commission is expected to award either the Track 4A or 4B power plant projects via direct negotiations and not through competitive bidding, as has been the practice since 2012.
An industry source said speculation is rife that a consortium led by YTL Power International Bhd will bag the multi-billion ringgit project.

The source said the commission is expected to release a letter of award to a private company for the contract to build a 1,400 megawatt closed-cycle gas turbine power plant in Johor, to be completed in 2018.

SIPP-YTL-Tenaga JV picked for 1,000MW Johor power plant job

The consortium will develop a fast track combined cycle power plant (CCGT) using proven technology with a capacity of 1,000 MW to 1,400 MW in Pasir Gudang. This was on condition the technical and commercial proposals were acceptable to commission.

“The levelised tariff that may be considered competitive must be comparable to the Prai CCGT tender exercise concluded in 2012,” it said.

YTL Power board to meet today, discuss Track 4A power deal

QUOTE
The sources said YTL Power is examining a range of options over the award given to the company, TNB and SIPP Energy Sdn Bhd – a company linked to Johor's Sultan Ibrahim.

"They may withdraw from 4A and ask the government to have an open tender where they will bid with others.

"The thinking is that's best to restore credibility to the process," a source told The Malaysian Insider
