Anyone watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in Blu-Ray? I read at Amazon.com discussion that the pq sucks, grainy, dark and cant see anything. true or not?
*
I have not watched Harry Potty 6 blu-ray so I cun't really comment... but I heard only good thing about the PQ or some sort of...

To some purist, grainy is a good thing PQ-wise bcoz it stays true to its original film's characteristic. I personally don't fancy grainy, because it reveals the deficiency of the film material... unless it was done intentionally by the filmmakers - to convey tone, feel & mood of the film.

To me it's no big deal... it's pretty straight forward to do this if you're good in psd, of course nod.gif

Rumor: Remastered Gladiator Blu-ray Coming Up

The Digital Bits, quoting industry sources, is reporting that Paramount Home Entertainment, in cooperation with Universal Studios Home Entertainmment, will re-issue Gladiator on Blu-ray later this year, using a brand-new 1080p transfer that was just completed "a couple of months ago." Bill Hunt says this was done "after Paramount and Universal realized how bad the first one was, naturally."

Again according to the Bits' sources, the studio plans to schedule this Blu-ray rerelease for late summer or fall, to coincide with either the theatrical or (more probably) the home video release of Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, and possibly labeled as a 10th Anniversary Edition.

There is no information as to whether there will be an exchange program for the first edition of this title. There is no information either of a rerelease in other territories.

*
Exchange program apply to international customers or not? hmm.gif I doubt it though.... if it's really a worth "upgrade" release, then I don't mind double-dip since my current copy only bought for USD10 biggrin.gif

Huh yah I saw Speedy and other music stores selling 2012 at RM149.90 too.
Suprised they got the stock so much earlier, as Amazon only target to have early March  brows.gif Tempted but will wait.
Got a question guys/ sifus, are all BDs purchase in Amazon UK able to watch on our local bluray player like Panasonic BD60/ PS3 Singapore Version?  hmm.gif
*

RM149.90 for 2012? No lah, not worth the extra buck just to get that bluray in tin sardin. But that's just me... tongue.gif

QUOTE(chan14 @ Feb 10 2010, 12:41 AM)
So if it indicates Region 2 meaning I can't purchase?
*

Don't rely on the back cover info too much, refer to other forumers or check HERE first before making order.... to be safe nod.gif But if you're refering the ones selling at $PEEDO, then all are playable here

WoW, kinda quiet here... where's everyone? Everybody must've been:

1 Busy preparing / shopping / "makan besar" etc. for CNY
2 Balik kampung for the long holidays & disconnect from the world
3 Sleeping all day & all of the night yawn.gif
4 Working
6 Catching up & watching blu-rays non-stop
5 In a romantic mood wub.gif

Which category are you in?

How many of you here are guilty of buying BDs for the sake of owning the discs instead of watching the movie?
I buy BDs mostly just "to keep":

Well, I'm stucked right in the middle between the 2... I still have no less than 10 titles yet to unwrap & watch, so I guess currently I'm more to the top tier... wink.gif

I bet there are some of us here who's yet to invest/own a 'good' home theatre set with proper hdtv & set-up etc etc, but until that time comes... buy/collect as many titles now when the price is darn good... nod.gif

Finished watching The Hurt Locker and 9. The 50 cal sequence in the desert of THL is quite awesome. 9 has a lot of deep LFE. Story is so so only but AQ is good.

Tested part of '2012' at my friend's home. He told me that the AQ is seemingly lacking, which is rather disappointing. Anyway, will borrow from him and watch it during this long holiday.

I presumed the 2012 is the steelbook $PEEDO version one right? hmm.gif

Hmmm... I'm just wondering if a non-US release share a similar audio authoring/mastering with US release or vice versa... and so do with other releases hmm.gif
Because some are different; like The Last Samurai - US Region A audio is DD 5.1 while Asia Region A is Dolby Tru-HD

Sounds more like she doesn't trust you... laugh.gif How old are u btw, 14? Maybe she doesn't trust what you order.
Ok ok, as long your total order (plus shipping & handling) doesn't exceed RM500 and... your titles are not "suggestive" or "suspicious" brows.gif , then they won't be taxed or get confiscated etc etc... unless really2 unlucky la.

Amazon's customer service is tip-top... one of the best if not the best in the world, believe me... thumbup.gif
I bet all the sifus & taukehs here agree with me... nod.gif I've ordered from Amazon for almost 4 years now; since dvd era.
