Actually True offers up to 16mbps (for the equivalent of RM220/month). I've used it, it works as well as Streamyx or better.Worse than in Malaysia.

Most of the complaints in Thailand are about TOT, the incumbent former government monopolist (that is, the equivalent of TM). Unlike in Malaysia, the market was opened up by a government more interested in long-term benefits than short-term payoff, and True showed up offering fixed-line service that blows TOT away.
