Hi again fellas...

I'm facing with a veeeerrryyy big problem here.
Played Halo 2 on PC a couple years back. The game's good.. fall in love with the whole franchise.

And recently bought an Xbox 360 Jasper set. Bought Halo 3: ODST. Put in the DVD.. play the games.


And HOLY SH1T!!!!


I can't even hit a single Grunt!! A SINGLE GRUNT!! Not to mention all those other aliens with fancy guns. Recalling back my memories with Halo 2 on PC.. it is so sweet.. head shot every single douches I saw with my rifle. Having some happy moment together with all the grunt. Sort of like love hate relationship with a plasma gun and a couple shots.


Now on Xbox 360.. no mouse. Only a gamepad.. with an analog stick. And I can't even aim on a grunt at all. The feelings of being killed by a grunt after about 10 minutes of running around.. is simply priceless.

Anyone can help?? I totally sucks at this. Seriously.. I'm in need of serious help.

1. Is there any way I can play Halo 3: ODST with a mouse?? I did some googling.. but found this instead:
Dual SFX Frag Pro.. but come on.. Halo is only on Xbox 360.

Need mouse.. deperately.



2. Any other ways?? If mouse isn't available?? I'd appreciate even a simple tips. As long as I can return being a god of FPS in my own right with Xbox 360 gamepad controller. Geez.. I wonder how do you guys manage to play even Modern Warfare 2 with headshots every single time WITH A GAMEPAD!




God... help me please fellas..

practice makes perfect, no 1 in MW2 headshots every single time. its just like CS when u hold an AK with the burst fire eventually it just hits. no Aim bot on xbox360 lol.

oh ya, there isnt any mouse for xbox360 as far as i know, if you cant control the target try setting the scrolling to be lower so it wont scroll too fast.

i lol'ed... MS would never ever allow developers that allow the usage of mouse and keyboard in their xbox games

coz in that way, xbox 360 would become just like PC

everyone starts as a n00b, EVERYONE.. if u're a pro now, u were a n00b before thats a fact... anyways, back on topic..

u're probably gonna have 2 practice alot.. halo might not be the game to practice off on, but COD4MW1 or CODMW2 has some really good "training" obstacle courses to get you used to the gamepad

i practiced the obstacle courses and learnt it would work for every other FPS game on the xbox

as i started like you, i did some research last time and indeed the 2 posts above are true.. everyone uses a gamepad on xbox, to maintain fairness actually.. *cough* ps3 ppl can use their own mouse and kb =.=

but if u really have 2, i found play-asia selling some kind of devices that can emulate your gamepad, by plucking in a USB mouse. reviews on this device werent great and it only supported a few games...

in my opinion, practice and u'll be as good as anyone considering u were that good using a mouse b4

xfps 360 ....

trust us, the controller is designed for FPS. just that you need some time to master it.

If you really want a mouse & KB, unofficial way is to use a tool called XFPS360. However there're history where Microsoft issue a new software update which rendered unofficial hardware useless.....

well.. I guess practice is the best then..

oh well... not to spend at least 5 hours a day immersing my self with FPS on Xbox 360 everyday... hopefully I'll be able to get better as fast as possible with gamepad.. who knows.. might even get better than the last time I'm with a mouse.

tried the PS3 one yet? freaking tiring..

sooner or later u going to suck with mouse and keyboard.. like what happen to me.

i remember when i first got my xbox console.. played gears of war with controller.. omg damn suck but only took a couple of hours to adapt to it.

just go with it and it will be natural in no time.

i'm still adapting to DS3 after so long holding XBOX360 Controller ... there is no doubt for me XBOX360 controller is much more suitable for FPS (if comparing with other gamepad)

as other mentioned above, it's not fair when u playing with sumone that is using things like fragfx while others are using normal gamepad, and yes, mouse and kb is only for PC , gamepad for console.

However..... 360's controller is not very good with fighting games!

Really? I can't pull out good combo's with it.

It does feel more comfortable in your hand. For the part that you're not able to pull a good combo...it could be a U.P. (User Problem)

one thing about the 360 controller DPAD

to me, it sucks ass compared to PSP/PS3 or Nintendo Wii

the DPad really really poor

or maybe im just not used 2 it

I'd say it's poor too... Sometimes it's stuck!

As for your second option , that is to improve using 360 pad ...

1. play more , practice makes perfect as the ol' saying

2. You don't rely too much on adjusting the analog for horizontal aiming , instead , you strafe .

3. Keep in mind that there are some sort of auto aim in all console's FPS , your objective is about making full potential of this auto aim .
