The lens react to UV light. It's won't turn dark unless the indoor have some UV.

I am using transition lenses now

1. will turn darkest if the UV/Matahari very TERIK.

2. In the car if your car got Tinted, Most likely wont turn dark.

3. Inside Shopping Mall, once u get in from hot sun with super dark , very super fast changed back to clear in 5mins..

4. nothing much diff, compare to normal specs just it turn dark, darker, darkest according to the SUN UV...

5. The colour changes, very comfortable.. wink.gif

Will take my first spec now at shop. Confirmed on 18/09 and ready today. At first wanna try that transition lense from Essilor but i think i'll not really utilized on my 8 hours office environment. So far the best i get RM400 for 1 pair. Normal right?

After few times thinking, i just endup buying multicoated clear lense with UV400 & EMI that cost me RM100 only. So total with levelnine frame RM350. I hope can see all signboard clearly when driving after this..HahA sweat.gif

550 with coating both hoya.
there was one above 1k but didnt dare ask
used something cheaper before but after awhile it didnt went to crystal clear abit yellowish for some reason.

they said expensive cause for extra coating and thinner glass.
how dark n sensitive also an isue is whut they say. (hard to noticed i guess)

Don't bother with Transition lens if your power is high unless you really really want it. Because it is thicker than normal lens so you really need high index lens which is very very expensive. Lens normally last 1-3 years before it gets scratched one way or another.

Get a clip on instead.

Also it's not efficient for driving since less UV gets in the car so it won't turn as dark as you want it to.

New types turn black and back to normal pretty fast.

Erm, just bought a transition lens glasses.

I should ask for the authentic card right? And, why titanium frame so expensive....? last but not least, it is awkward that some shop ask my reading before stating the price but some shop can right away tell me the price....why is it so?

you shouldnt have asked..

u shud get at least 2 cards

1. Transition Lens Authenticity
2. Carl Zeis Vision Warranty Card (if you are using Carl Zeis Lens - because it gives 1yr warranty of manufacturing defects, if any)

they SHOULD give you when they pass you your glasses.

Pls go to the shop, and ask for it as in the market now a lot of FAKE transition lens ..as the unker told me when i was doing my transition lens few months back.

Some even charged like RM 300+ only for Frame + Transition Lens, no way it will be that cheap.

Usually they will check your eye sight power, then only choose specs, then only they will tell you he price of everything..

depending on the frame that you chooses & the power of your eyesight & the lens that you are going to use (multi-focal or not multi-focal?) + Hoya or NOT hoya (the lens brand)

I'm getting one similar spec it costs RM180
But it's not Transition brand, it's called Magic Sun Visor
Which provide same function with Transition but it turn darker slower
Is that price reasonable?
